Got to a hotel and watch movies. the Rasp Pi OS - last version - was a little slow and took too much cpu cycles to play the videos. High res would take 130% of the cpu ( movie on a plugin device - not from web browser ). I just updated to never version a couple of weeks ago, same videos now take 13%. so good strides in video accel have been made. I was going to update eventually, but now - maybe not. Its main purpose is now fulfiled.>> <<@jonathanmason6100 says : I wonder if they will have Steam OS on this platform and I would like to see OBS studio running on the Pi5. I've never been a fan of ubuntu, but on the rpi 5 it's doing a fantastic job, that's why I'm using it for my multimedia-evenings in front of the TV. rpi OS is okay, very stable but imho somehow old fashioned because of lxde; just not my thing. I presently prefer armbian with xfce. another interesting OS for the pi 5 is rhino os; I'm presently testing it on my pi 5b/16GB. everything is working just fine. Perhaps you may want to look at it. the worst OS I tried on pi 5 until now was Emteria (android); holy moly, that really sucks. Since you asked which OS your viewers would like to run on the pi 5: linux Mint would be first to come into my mind. but then also Peppermint and Kumander and Nomad BSD. Peppermint is already available for pi, but not for pi 5. Kumander is a very interesting linux distro for desktop; I'm using it daily on one of my computers. Nomad is imho the best BSD available; not only on usb, you can install it on your harddisk and it works great. those are the distros I'd definitely want to see running on my pi. Keep going, I always like to see your videos.>> <<@OptimusMonk01 says : Welcome to 1975>> <<@seetheforest says : I think mine is defective it cant load or run anything. It gives lots of errors. Thats about it. I see you have some editing software that looks awesome but i spent a week trying to find a game like pong or anything and theres nothing. Anyway, I'm still contemplating whether to keep using Raspberry Pi OS or switch to FydeOS. The former is like any other desktop Linux distro but with proper support for ARM SoC. However, I keep drawing to FydeOS because of its ChromiumOS origin making it a worthy alternative to Google's ChromeOS.>> <<@lobizonsereno says : I'm new on raspberry. I buy a Raspberry Pi 5. I would like to use Ubuntu, but I need the Raspberry with a small display, and buy GeeekPi 3.5 display. I read that the display works only with Rasberry Pi OS and gives a white screen with other SOs . I buy a SD with Raspberry OS to have it working in less time, but maybe I will buy other SD to try to make work Ubuntu with that display. I would love to have a Zorin OS version for Raspberry 5. Ubuntu and Zorin uses Gnome as the desktop, but I love the modified version of Gnome that Zorin have. I read on coments about Ubuntu Mate, and I would be interested, as is my main OS on my Laptop.>> <<@lorribot64 says : One OS you might find interesting is DietPi>> <<@Pic-vic-Spooling says : I watched your first video on the pi5 and wanted the nvme video which came after.
