Destin took one for the YouTube comments 🙏🏼 your and thunderbolt are my G.O.A.T.S. of yt and I thank you both and Phil for the immense work on the videos. Destin really pulled it out of the bag, had the audience right where he wanted them and had the balls to take the shot. As he said you've got to be able for negative criticism. I think given a project of this magnitude that was hugely ballsy for Destin. The full video is great and I just have shared it so many times coming up to the sls launch Artemis. Deescalate and lettuce live and travel freely in the only place that humanity has ever called home and likely ever will..

The only thing I will say on this video. Is maybe the goal isn't necessarily what we learn when we get there. It's learning while we are trying to get there. The material science, improvements in the life support. improvements in portable power. It gives us an excuse to develop these things that potentially could be passed down. That, I believe to be the true thing that we would discover. Another thing to consider is that romance that's consistently mentioned. While scientifically irrelevant, the public isn't motivated by papers. Unfortunately it is viewed as boring. Is the new launch of Artemis as shown. The public very much has a much more vested interest in a human participating in space travel. While the hard science gained might not be huge. The impact it has on the Publics view on science might be worth it. Look at the amount of kids that want to be an astronaut when they're young.

And his cult keeps swallowing it hook, line, and sinker. Meanwhile, he just keeps stuttering out new verses for his con song, while we keep destroying our Pale Blue Dot. Wake UP, sheeple!

Unfortunately, anything involving government making decisions on how to spend tax payer dollars, including complex engineering projects, is inevitably a question of policy and politics, even when answering the question really requires honesty and objectivity. EDIT: I get many scientists disdain politics and foreign policy infringing on scientific matters, but the truth is there very much is a new pissing contest in the form of Cold War II: The U.S. versus China, in which China poses a far more tenable alternative than the Soviet Union did to the western model of free market democracy. It might sound ridiculous or irrational, but if China can get to the Moon first before the United States and its allies (because Artemis IS an alliance between the U.S. and its allies), then that's a major feather in China's cap, much like winning the space race against the USSR was such for the U.S. in the first Cold War (reportedly, winning the space race was a big reason why Gorbachev believed Reagan's SDI was actually feasible despite the skepticism of his science advisors, and may have helped contribute the the Soviet Union's demise).
