The speech to text on my pixel 8 is absolute trash. When responding to comments on YouTube it won't even stay long enough for me to finish half a aentence. When doing dictation in Gmail it misspells words at a rate not seen since the Nexus phones were being sold. I don't know, I'll pull the case off and try to check the microphones with a toothpick, but speech to text in general and voice dictation through Gmail both seem to get worse and worse as time goes on and as Android gets updated. I recall doing some research about the problems, and there was some talk on Reddit that voice recognition has become worse since a particular version of Android that escapes me at the moment. Anyone else with a recent model pixel that's been left utterly disappointed by the phone's suspect ability to interpret speech and convert it to text on the phone? Between the microphone in the search bar and the Google Assistant, maybe I need to deactivate something or some shizz.
