There's no evidence that Jesus went anywhere immediately after He died. 1 Peter 3 says that Jesus made proclamations to the imprisoned spirits after he was made alive. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, not before. If he was alive when he was dead then rising from the dead wouldn't be a thing.

This is very unbiblical teaching. You misunderstood Peter completely. It's referencing a time of Noah preaching before the flood and Spirit of God that inspired Noah. There is zero people in Sheol that you can preach to. They are dead, awaiting resurrection. All of them. So was Jesus when He died. That's how much He sacrificed - He died for you. Not left His body and carried on after. His spirit went to the hands of the Father yet after the resurrection He said He wasn't there yet. So was it Him that left the body or ruach/breath of life? This is spiritism that you teach man.

Because the people in hell were the faithful of Israel before the gates of hell were broken. They were in Abraham's bosom (Luke 16:19-31) awaiting Jesus. When he died he descended into hell (1 Peter 3:18-20), preached to the saints of the Old Testament (Matthew 27:52, Hebrews 12:23, 1 Peter 3:18-20). Note he didn't peach to everyone, this is why Noah is included, it's those who believed were preached to (1 Peter 3:18-20). Then Jesus rose again and ASCENDED, LEADING THE CAPTIVES OUT FROM THE EARTH (Ephesians 4:8-10). It says it and is a proof of him as it was prophesied. People that never learned from Jesus is a different issue... it's possible.

In 1 peter it is talking about the spirit by which God preach to the souls that are in prison. It does not necessarily implies he preached them in prison, but that he preached to the souls, people, Nephesh, that are in prison. Lazarus and rich man is parable, and were sarcastic one actually. Don't take it literally, it should not be, learn the context of time and the situaction that Jesus said that parable. It was actually Pharisees that believed there was this place, the Abraham's bosom, but, bosom means like...lap. So how many souls can he hold? Jesus makes laugh out of their perverted theology

Shalom my brothers and sisters in Christ. Peace be to you. Have no fear. There is no pagan place called hell. This comes from a mind that is not perfect in love, a mind that is in fear. This place of fiction implies that we have a choice to make, that we have free will. We have no free will. Only attitudes of fear that provide a reprobate mind, an egocentric state of consciousness, believe that to be true. Al though there are various impediments to exercise one's choices, free will does not imply freedom of action. It doesn't take an intelligent man to understand that God can influence our choices and therefore nullifies free will. e.g. We hold no power over life and death. We have no control over fear. We cannot choose to either enter this world of fear and death or not. The Truth is something we learn by the guidance of God, it is never something carnally minded people will tell you. Is it not also known to you, that any that bring a message that involves fear is simply not from God. God will save everyone from a fearful consciousness. All in their own order. No exceptions. To God is all the glory.

I agree with Frank, I don’t think it would make sense for Jesus to do that either… why would God go against the free will of someone who chose to not want to be with him in the first place after hearing the Gospel/suppressing the law of God written on their hearts if they hadn’t heard it? Furthermore when we enter eternity (after death), the consequences are irreversible. Makes you appreciated God blocking Adam from getting to the tree of life after the fall now doesn’t it?

Answer appears deleted 🤷♀️ * see Ephesians 4:8-10. And the various verses others listed. Jesus presence in descending to Paradise where believers were kept (in the place of the dead) before resurrection. His arrival there preached to those on the other side (Hell), and heralded great news for those he spent time with in paradise with believers of OT. Likely said what he shared was same as the 2 on Eramaus road. And that when he rises, these ones will come out "the grave" and be seen by those in town and those they know... as another sign at the resurrection of Christ, to tell others & as to accompany the Resurrection. Then when he ascended he took the captives to Heaven. And are now in Heaven in Jesus/Father's presence. If one reads the various puzzle pieces in Scripture. Eph points well to put a bow on all these things.

Thief on the cross: " Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom" The Lord Jesus Christ : " I tell you the truth , this day you shall be with me in paradise." If he was 3 days in hell where people are in torment then he could not be where he said the thief on the cross would be with him this day. Which was paradise . You can debate what paradise is but it's pretty clear that hell fire is not a paradise. Paradise and Abrahams bosom are synonymous, at least in the fact that both places are not places of torment and All the old patriarchs went to a place of peace and joy not torment. The point of the rich man and lazurous was that while on earth the beggar who sat at his gate needing help and only the dogs gave him any kind of help , so both die and the rich greedy holier than thou rich man is now crying for the same thing the poor man did on earth..water for relief but just as he refused the poor sick beggard simple basic needs , he receives no mercy , not one drop . I do agree it's too late . In hell one pleads for relief and gets none .

In regards to 1 Peter 3:19: I wish Frank would have expounded on this more because it's a good question. He failed to give a complete answer to. (or maybe he did and the video cuts that out). To understand this, we have to look at Genesis. From the book of Genesis, we know that Noah was a righteous man in a corrupt word. God was to destroy the world and calls Noah to make an ark for himself, his wife, their 3 sons and his 3 daughter in laws. 8 people total. God was to destroy the world with water. God promises that he would never destroy the world again through water. This was the new covenent. Frank is correct that 1 Peter 3:19 does not say that Jesus saved 8 souls and brought them to heaven but instead, it eludes back to the days of Noah. In verse 19, " After being alive ( in the spirit), he (Jesus) went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits..." (BTW.. 1 Peter 3 does NOT say that Jesus went to hell. All it says t that he made his spirit known to the souls imprisoned). The bible doesn't say exactly what he proclaimed but it could have been to announced himself as the Son of Man, The King and beating death. Cannot say for certain. Continuing on: In verse 1 Peter 3:20, " ... to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being build. In "IT" ("IT" as in the Ark, not hell), only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water". The 8, as mentioned above - Noah, Wife, Son and their 3 wives, not 8 people from hell. The saved through water is symbolic. It was water that killed the unrighteous during days of Noah and it is water that will save the sinner - through baptism. (see 1 Peter 3:21) So to answer her question, there is no coming back from hell. Doing so is to say that God's judgement was a mistake, wrong or unfair and God can never be wrong. He is perfect and perfectly good. Frank should have also corrected her on Jesus going to hell for 3 days. Totally false.

Is it very omnibenevolent to force these people who would've gotten into Heaven later into Hell? I don't think so. Why do some people get a chance to avoid this and others don't? Same objection applies if they were not brought to Heaven, just with a different question. Is it very omnibenevolent to force these people who could've gotten into Heaven into Hell? If the answer is they couldn't have gotten into Heaven, then this still doesn't sound very omnibenevolent. Why create them in such a way where they can't avoid it? Either God put them in a time and place where they couldn't avoid it, or they never had a chance of getting into Heaven. Does that mean they ever had a choice? No. This doesn't apply very well with the concept of "free will", which is another concept I don't understand. If the answer to either of the questions is "yes, it omnibenevolent" then you are either saying torture is entirely good or whatever God does is good. So either I'd like you to stay away from me, and everyone else, or anything God does is good. If the latter is true, what do people mean when they say "God is good"? This appears to have the same meaning as "God is Godly" or "good is good". Either is circular. By this logic, if God came down and mercilessly tortured you, and your family, whether or not you accepted Jesus/did good deeds (if you believe in a works righteous system), with the most traumatic events and pain for all of eternity, it would be good, merely because God did it.

Ummm.... whoa.... NO NO NO!!! Jesus DID NOT go to Hell for 3 days. Let's get this out of the way now.... Sheol/Hades; WHAT IS IT? Well..... To the Catholic Church in the old days Sheol/Hades was a great way to make money by changing it's name to purgatory. Purgatory is a place in Catholic pagan mythology where you can work your way out of Hell to get to Heaven, or in the old days the lie was that people could BUY their loved ones out of Hell. Ummm..... NO. So... again.... What is Sheol/Hades? Many Christians don't know. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? The "church" itself could be to blame, or.... the person is to blame for not diving in deep. So let's dive in. Sheol/Hades is a place also known as a double layer system known as "Paradise" & "Torment". To make things clear "Paradise" is not Heaven, nor is "Torment" Hell. Sheol/Hades is a holding place for those who have died. How do I know this??? Jesus spoke of Lazarus and The Rich man.... where Lazarus went to Paradise where he was in peace with Abraham, and the Rich man went to Torment for his treatment of Lazarus. So to the Catholic Church you'd do well to remove "purgatory" from your theology. It's a lie. YOU KNOW IT. That goes along with the Apostles Creed that says that Jesus went to Hell for 3 days. No.... he didn't. How do I know this? Jesus said to the thief on the cross "Truly I say to you today you will be with me in PARADISE." Now hold on.... I thought Jesus went to Hell for 3 days??? But didn't Jesus say the thief would be with him in Paradise that day? So.... what gives? The terminology of Hell is.... WHAT in the Greek language? "Gehenna", or in the Hebrew tongue "Gehinnom", which is the abode of the damned in the afterlife. Now in 1 Peter 4:6 it states that.... "good tidings were proclaimed to the dead", and in Ephesians 4:9 "[Christ] descended into the lower parts of the earth". Guys and gals.... that's Sheol; that's Paradise. For some reason Hades has been confused way over top in the Bible as to it's meaning; however..... Hades was used to signify Hell (occasionally), but again Jesus said he'd be with the thief in Paradise.... This means Jesus was in Paradise preaching to the people there who obviously didn't know him to be saved by the Messiah, and yet they awaited his coming. How do I know this? Isn't it obvious the person of Yeshua Ha Machiach in the Old Testament is Jesus Christ? So.... Jesus went to Paradise to preach to the faithful servants of God who HAD to meet him. Remember.... no one comes to The Father but by Jesus. Jesus meant NO ONE. Do you see? On a final note realize the question as to why we'd need a resurrection if we automatically went to Heaven. So.... IF your loved ones have died and were servants of the most high..... they're not in Heaven. They're not looking down on you smiling like George Carlin scoffed at. It's interesting how the atheist claims to know so much about The Bible and yet they sound foolish when they speak about it. I know.... I used to be an Atheist who knew all about the Bible, too. Uh huh..... No.... your loved ones who served the most high are in Paradise smiling from below having a ball with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph.... you get the idea. Anyone else notice when Jesus said Abraham met Lazarus? Why not Jesus? Why not Eloah? Why not angels? Does anyone see what I'm saying here? So we need to get rid of this whole Pagan Catholic Jesus went to Hell nonsense. It's completely heretical, and it's completely a wicked lie given by the Catholic Church centuries ago, but everything is a lie when it comes to the Church of Satan.... I mean the Catholic Church. Take care, ya'll......

No one can be saved except through Christ's sacrifice on the cross (Jn 14:6) Old Testament saints died in hope of the Messiah. (Heb 11:26) When OT saints died, they were gathered to their people (Deuteronomy 32:50) In the OT, both saints and sinners alike went to Sheol when they die (Gen 37:35 and Num 16:33) From the incident of Lazarus and Rich man, we know that there is a chasm that separates the saints and the sinners in Sheol. The saints go to Abraham's bosom or Paradise (it was called so as Abraham was the most prominent saint in the OT). The sinners go to Hades ( Luke 16) Even the most devout OT saints were captive to the fear of death (Heb 2:14-15, 1 King's 1: 1-3) When Christ said the words tetelestai (meaning it is finished) on the cross, He proclaimed that the plan of salvation of mankind is finished. (Jn 19:30) Christ was with that brother (former thief) who got saved in the cross in Paradise (Luke 23:43) OT saints died in hope of the Messiah and they must have been awaiting the proclamation of the redemption Christ proclaimed the good news in Spirit to the OT saints in Paradise. (1 Peter 3 18-19). Can't imagine how excited they must have been. He then carried them up to 'High' all these OT saints who were His captives (captive to the fear of death) (Eph 4:8, Ps 68:18) Now in New Testament times, anyone who dies in Christ will go straight to where Christ is. (Phil 1:23) The one who got to get this unbelievable privilege was the thief on the cross. Shows the depth of God's grace. The wicked still go to the place of torment or Hades. But it's reasonable to think that OT saints and NT saints are having fellowship in the spirit with Christ.

"Hell" today tends to get grouped all together. You had Paradise, aka Abraham's Bosom, Hades, (Hell as it is now, separated from God) and the Lake of Fire (the eternal Hell post-White Throne Judgement Day) Abraham's Bosom was where the "saved" went before Jesus' sacrifice, as their sin had been covered through the Law and animal sacrifices, but not forgiven to get to Heaven. It was said to be underground, like Hades, hence the rift between the two in the tale of the rich man and Lazarus. Jesus descended into Abraham's Bosom in order to lift the saints out of there and bring them to the Father as the "First Fruits," hence fulfilling that appointed time. There is nobody in Abraham's Bosom anymore.

And the other with Abraham await there mansion! But hell doesn’t exist until after the Day of the lord! I challenge any of you to find in the Bible otherwise! And when Jesus went to that side he gave all those who never had a chance to see Him to choose Him and move to the side of Abraham. There are only 3 definitions of hell! Death, sarcophagus, and the fiery furnace. Hell is not a place, physical or spiritual, the fire God consumes with is ment to permanently separate you from him and when your soul is turned to ash, and you are turned into smoke, you are no longer in existence forever and ever! And once the last soul is punished hell will no longer exist either! Less you think you will hear the cries and screams of loved ones in eternity? After God said there will be no more tears!

Jesus proclaimed His victory upon the Cross for our sins to the “spirits in prison”. The spirits of course are in wicked Genesis 6:4-5. Since the unbelievers mocked Noah and didn’t repent of their sins and drowned in the Flood ended up in the prison. They cannot repent of sin anymore or be saved! Prison is Hades from Luke 16 because “which were sometime DISOBEDIENT” The spirits of those who die now in their sins without Jesus Christ go to Hades and await the Great White Throne Judgment.
