I wish I didn’t know anything about Mark Ruffalo aside from the roles he plays. Knowing his politics absolutely ruins any performance I see him in now. Just a pretentious whiny liberal. There are several actors I can think of like this.

My husband and I love films and have more than 800 DVDs of our favorites. Moreover, we loved the experience of going to the movies in a theater - popcorn! sodas! candy! In 2017 we were watching about 65 films a year in theaters, a bit more than 1 per week. Now, it's been about 4 years since we've gone to a movie theater at all. In fact, the last film I remember going to see was "Darkest Hour." Partly that we because the cost for families went through the roof. We'd pay the going rate for tickets, etc. at the art house theater, because foreign films were typically high quality and you couldn't see them in other theaters. But for films out of Hollywood we'd wait and see them at the second-run theater for half the price. That worked for awhile. But then the greedy suits running the studios started pitching comic book plots to the video game crowd. To heck with older adults who actually appreciated good stories and originality. Teen and twenty-somethings were undemanding on plot and would buy the toys and other commercial junk associated with the film. Then they killed off even that audience with woke politics and algorithm-driven sameness. I would love to go to the movies again, but there's seldom anything worth the cost of going. Creativity and originality aren't on the studios' list of check boxes. Now we are told that AI is going to change everything, just like CGI was going to change everything, but what I've seen of both is so obviously not the real thing I'm already bored to tears. I've cut back on YT as a result.

1. Internet enabled ppl to know the horrible lives stars lead. Disenchantment set in. 2. Stars became political and crapped on half their paying audience/fans with their opinions. 3. Movie tickets, popcorn and drinks became way overpriced. 4. Family films became infested with woke ideologies and ppl got sick of it. 5. Amazon, Netflix, etc., saturated the market with thousands of choices for way less money. 6. Writers no longer know how to do good character development or use humor that isnt crude and totally inappropriate. 7. Audiences are so uneducated now that nothing of true value can be relayed in films. The past two decades young ppl haven’t been taught history, basic religious ideas, literature, classical music or anything that used to tie societies together and bring about the warm feelings of shared experiences we used to get from movies. Everyone is divided based in personal preferences and feelings. We are all countries of individuals with nothing in common. Just a few reasons.

I honestly think it's because of the sheer magnitude of films being released now and the accessibility of streaming platforms. You used to get a slow drip feed of widely advertised film now it's like a geiser of movies and shows and you just get a bit lost in the ocean of it. There are still gems of films being made but it's more underground you have to do some searching. I also think 90s and early 2000s made the best movies ever but just mho.

This is shocking to watch. I don't think that Dennis alone struggles to get this or know what to do about it it. I get the sense that these industry insiders just undervalue the negative impact of internet social media. It has made podcasting more intimate but this is a scam where they're having us interview each other but it's a public record oniy its like we're all in a prison ratting on each other and confessing. They don't want to employ people anymore so they're tearing down Hollywood and the whole facade they hid their dark power structure behind.

There really isn't much psychology in this. Today's movies are in general just simply terrible. You're signing up for an epic fantasy adventure, or a beautiful romance story, and get slapped on the cheek with 2 men kissing in a closet. Things have become so boring and unbearable that searching for new stories has by extension become a job on its own - People are already tired enough. Then mix everything I said a second before with the fact that you just gotta wait a few months and the video is available on streaming services and you'll quickly see how people just don't bother anymore.

I think the declining interest is due to a few things. One of them is the constant need to market, commodify and package everything. We refine this process over and over to the point where we don't trust anything anymore because we've gotten used to all the marketing tricks and manipulation that goes into selling or promoting something. Essentially greed.

It truly is difficult if not impossible for me to separate a nasty, mean spirited actor from the character they are playing. Knowing too much about actors is a self-imposed constraint that a lot of actors just do not have the chops to get out of. It will always be classy to thank the people of all stripes for coming to see your movie and not dunk on any of them, for any reason.

The beginning of the end was MTV’s The Real World. Audiences were glued to their tvs. They couldn’t get enough. Then execs realized that they could make tons of money while investing nearly nothing in to people with zero skill. That was the beginning of the end. That has evolved to the problems of today. PC, social media, CGI, $20 bags of popcorn, Netflix, Apple TV, 7000 other ways to entertain yourself on a tv… I haven’t been interested in a new movie in so long I can’t even remember the last one I liked.
