I guess using multiple rollers and multiple bends the absurd length of this slingshot can be reduced further to match the max draw length of the rubbers bands used for shooting.

I really miss the ol JOERG SPRAVE !!! over a decade ago before you were so world famous you communicated with us in your comments . because of my inventive nature , i have created tons of slingshots , airgun mods , rifle and pistol , paintball , hunting and fishing mods , and the field of archery , the bow and arrow , and specialty ammo for them all . i guess if i would have started my youtube channel back in 2010 like i was supposed to , i would be a multi millionaire by now in 2024 !!! lol . i have put some of my work and ideas into youtube channels over the years and have seen my ideas brought to life by other people and companies making a small fortune because of them . i have so so so many more money making ideas that i have regretaly learned to late to keep to myself , i fear i will take at least 95% of them to my grave because of all the things involved in attaining patents and finding the right honest people to partner up with . i have tried several invention companies and have come to the conclusion they were all scams . to protect myself , i have notarized my products and ideas threatening to take them to court if my ideas ever surfaced in public by someone else , so yeah , i advise people to go another route with any ideas they come up with . !!! you were very blessed and fortunate you had some help to bring to market some of your ideas especially my favorite , "the FENRIS " , Instant Legolas !!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS MY OL FRIEND !!!

Thats super smart. You basically made an increased draw length by effectively drawing both forward and backward. Twice the potential energy. Sick slingshot lol.

I feel like a rack and pinion is perfect here. Put a loop on the back of the cup. Attach this to a post at the end of the rack. Mount a guide rail for the rack, then interface a gear with the rack, and a lever with a ratchet to the gear. Now you can crank the rack and the pouch back one crank of the lever at a time. Use a trigger pull to lift the loop off the post, and it fires. Then lift the ratchet to slide the rack forward, re-set that loop on the post, and repeat.

You could have an archer's glove that the assisting band is attached to, and a tension cinch on the release. Cool design!!! Subscribed and liked.

"A wrist brace is illegal in Germany" Waoh?! Dang. Germany is against safety and physical support? Doesn't sound like they have your best interest at heart. Guess you know where to aim all your pointy tools and projectile toys. It's nice that those enemies who wish harm on you identify themselves like that. Strangely they always work for a government. Probably time to stop using those since they always cost more than they save. (In terms of anything. Life Blood. Money. Time. You name it, governments waste it.)

It looks amazing! Putting the back screw on a rail would make it a lot easier to control it I think, you don't have to worry about position (as much) or about the assist not letting go since it would be attached and limited by the rail.

Was hättest du da?

<<@robertelm1163

Why not just have individual bands that hook on to the pouch individually? So you pull individual bands onto a stabilized pouch with a trigger release like I've seen you make many times before. This way you don't have to worry about muscle strength to cock it. It will take longer to prep but your problem becomes the strength of the materials. You could conceivably have a sling shot with eight or ten bands.

When I saw the thumbnail I had a completely different idea. If velocity is something you're after perhaps having the slingshot moving forward as it releases the shot would be something to look into. Kind of like if you're on a moving train and you walk from the back of the train to the front of the train. If you get my meaning

How about a multi-stage load? Manually pull the payload back halfway to a latch attached to a mechanical advantage slider. The handle portion could run the entire length and the latch portion only the back half. The final draw could 2:1 of (nearly) your entire wingspan to pull the carriage back an extra couple feet. Bonus of being incredibly accurate.

<<@Pystro

Instead of that fiddly pin+loop catch that you show at 2:59 to 3:22, I would just have affixed the hand loop to the grip end of the beam with a meter or so of normal rope. (When you pull the hand loop forwards, the rope just goes slack. When you want to take your hand out of the loop, the rope holds it from going back too far automatically. And when you release the pouch with a lot of force in your arm, it would also keep your hand from snapping back violently; which could and give the long rubber band the 5mm or so of slack that it needs to jump off the roller, or even just smack your hand into the roller.)
>>
<<@the3Dandres
says :
would it not be better to have the end of the helper string also attached to the front and use pulleys to change the direction of force? because right now when the tension increases in the main rubberband, the tension in the helper string reduces. so by the time you fully draw out the main rubber you don't get any assistance from the helper rubber?
