This review didn’t convince me. I also have a full Sonos surround system at home and it’s amazing. And honestly it was the only reason I would even try their headphones. But idk. The price is also way over priced.

I was really considering breaking my bank to buy this, but the one thing I wanted was a wifi connection. I want a hi-res lossless capable wireless headphone, and that's only possible with wifi. C'mon Sonos. I've been getting on the enthusiast high fidelity audio market this year and it's amazingly frustrating, because the traditional companies seem to have stopped on 2010, and the hi-tech companies (such as Sonos) seem to simply not get it right. I just want a simple wireless setup that can play vinyl, CD, streaming and can connect to Alexa/Nest/Siri/Matter. Is that kind of technology that difficult to achieve? Why do I need a receiver and a bunch of wired speakers to achieve that? Sonos seems to be the company that's closest to that, but they still don't have a way to connect traditional physical media to their system. Just imagine a Sonos Turntable that can connect over wifi to other speakers or headphones and be controlled by voice commands? That's the dream.

Very interesting how you criticized this Sonos headphones travel case and when you mentioned AirPods Max you do not say a thing about their joke case that looks like a toy, not to mention those headphones don’t even have a power button.

I think it’s ridiculous that with Sonos, you can’t listen to the soundbar and the headset at the same time. If someone wants to use the headset while others prefer the soundbar, the system doesn’t allow both to be used simultaneously. This limitation is really frustrating.

I think the assessment that they should be connected to WiFi is unfair….. from a technical perspective, it just doesn’t make sense. It’s partially a battery issue- since you need a full on arm cortex processor that’s power hungry, and expensive. It also takes up a lot of space inside of the headphones. It makes no sense to expect that. At all. I’m disappointed that even came up.

I do not understand this Sonos product. Yeah, I was expecting Sonos features. OR, if NOT Sonos features, at least I was expecting something unlike what TVs already do, IE that maybe you could have 2 or 3 Sonos headphones listening in to the same content as a group but keep all your neighbors ETC happy with silence. That would be neat. See: I have an LG TV with a Sonos Beam. Yes Ace is updated to now do content mode with the Beam. But, the TV already had bluetooth device support. If I pair my Sony XM4 to the TV there I am listening to the TV in the headphones. If I want to to switch quick, well, turn on the headphones that were last paired with the TV. Bang, the TV switches to use the headphones. Turn them off, bang the TV switches to use the speakers/soundbar again. What does the Sonos Ace do that I can't already do? Maybe, as I also have a Ray (supported by Ace now also) on my PC, I can LISTEN to the PC maybe. But when I'm using a headset on the PC I expect to be on voice chat for 8-10 hours straight, so you know, any word on the microphone quality would be nice. But I will just assume, that content mode is listen-only. It probably HAS to be, because, like, it's for TVs in Sonos's opinion. So okay you can use BT with the PC for two-way, but, is it the same quality? Many BT devices ARE NOT DECENT LISTENING headphones when they're in communication mode/profile. I wonder how the Ace would be. Probably, since it's for TVs and listening, it's just phone quality communication mode at best. Then why with my Ray on my PC, or Beam on my TV do I need Sonos Headphones for that PC or TV content? NOPE. Uh speaking of content mode, given that it's not Wifi, but Bluetooth, where is the BT hosting feature in the Ray, Beam and Arc? Oh. Oh no. It's not… they didn't… like… have the Ace connect with Bluetooth TO YOUR PHONE which is BRIDGING over Wifi to be on the Sonos Net? Dear god, you just made me have to get and extra device involved for some reason. One with its own battery life to worry about. One that might even have delay in the sync at random. WTH is this for?

Seriously man, you rant about the case? I have had the Sonos Ace from the launch date and have the experience from both Bose QC35 and Apple AirPods Max. The latter having the worst case of them all. I do agree that the zipper is a bit cumbersome, but I care more for the excellent features of the Sonos Ace, like excellent noise cancellation, great Aware mode, not so many buttons to push! Only negative points for me is the high price (compared to Bose and Sony) and that I recently have had an issue once with crackling noise but I got rid of it by turning them and the TV off and on. I think it might be fixed by future firmware. The best feature is being able to seamlessly switch between my Sonos Arc and Ace, while my daughter is sleeping. Adding to the sleek design I would say that Sonos has Aced it!
