It's fairly common knowledge that emulating it on a Dreamcast emulator or modding it fixes most of the clipping issues, due to this being a piss poor PC port, of a piss poor Xbox 360 port, of a piss poor GameCube port. There's no excuse for the voice acting, animation, and fishing sections though. I actually think this game is really fun if your run it with all the quality of life mods or just play the original version. The horrible voice acting and fishing sections are valid critiques though. It's not my favourite Sonic game, I think Mania shits on everything that came before or since, but as far as 3d Sonic games go, it does the best job at emulating how the Genesis games play, just in 3D. Mario 64 on the other hand brings mindless, boring "missions", like racing against a braindead Koopa Troopa, collecting 100 coins in each level (brilliant stuff!) and challenges of platforming that comes down to how much you're willing to wrestle against the godawful camera. The icing on the cake: the games has the same boss fight against Bowser being repeated 3 times, which, in terms of gameplay, is a glorified tech demo for the analog stick.
