He alone makes us clean before our Creator. God did not brutally murdered His Son. Human beings did it but Jesus voluntarily humbled Himself stepped down from heaven and stepped into our world and He used love every step of the way. The answer to the dude's question is yes, God has a choice. God does not love humans because He is bound to, as if in the absence of His will. God loves humans with His sovereignty. That is why Grace (God's love) is not earned, humans don't deserve to be loved, on the contrary humans deserve to die, and that is just, fair. Look at all the patriarchs and all the prophets in the old testament, none of them were sinless, no human is sinless. Therefore it is just if all humans because of their sin, die, for what follows sin is death. But the fact that humans still exist (not die) up to this present moment, is the proof of God's mercy, love, Grace. THE FORMER THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY. Edward Fudge, a bible scholar who is at rest in Jesus suffered much from his own brethren and other denominations for preaching this truth. He wrote the book, "The fire that consumes." Today, as more scholars are searching the scriptures many are believing this awesome truth. There is a beginning and a complete end to sin and sinners. Even Satan (and his angels) cease to exist. Ezekiel 28:19, "Never shalt thou be anymore." As one writer wrote: "The great controversy is ended. Sin and sinners are no more. Someone who dies an Athiest, but didnt commit atrocities against their fellow man would go straight to hell without a second thought, merely because he lacked belief in any god or the correct god.
