After all, doubt is the little, sometimes uncomfortable voice telling people that a belief they hold to needs investigation because it might be wrong. Doubt is a normal, natural thing and it leads to learning. Either the doubter learns that the idea is fine, or the doubter learns that the idea is wrong and needs modification, if not abandonment altogether. Truth is what is important, and that is why doubt can often be a good thing, even if it leads to an idea being abandoned. ++ If you want to actually help doubters then never turn your back on a doubter, even if the doubter abandons the faith. Many Christians need to be held accountable for the way they treat doubt and those who doubt too much. Christians can be horrid people. Except I've always said it was more like a switch flipped in my head and all these thoughts started flooding in. They definitely grew like a snowball though. They're just taught as facts even though they aren't facts. Question why we should believe this all happened on its own by chance and dumb luck. What sense it makes that DNA programmed itself and the human brain is just the product of a fortunate accident. Make observations about the workings of the human body, our abundance of provisions, well balanced ecosystem and the function of the universe and see how well that lines up with an accidental cosmic explosion with no known origin. Creation speaks to a Creator. It leads us to God. It testifies to a designer who had a purpose and meaning behind all of this.
