Take a HUMANOID robot that has incredible dexterity- (ie very precise ability and FINGER movement) and that ONE ROBOT can replace ALL robots (other than heavy lifting, industrial). It also has the ability to walk into a room designed for HUMANS, walk up to an operating table (also designed for HUMANS), use tools (designed for HUMANS) and perform surgical procedures. It seemed like the mainstream opinion from any time in the last 50 years except for the last few years when humanoids became genuinely possible. Humanoids are hard. So hard that Robotics had this sort of creative professional avoidance of what was a an old SciFi staple that they knew they would inevitably disappoint. Humanoids are obvious and if you can really mass produce them, the basis of a revolution. There would be nearly unlimited demand because they are as a form a drop in replacement for human labor of all sorts that requires physical presence. Specialized robots of the sort discussed were the academic consolation prize. They are by definition niche developments that are expensive and of limited utility. They are however what for many decades Robotics focused on because they could actually be built and some niche problems might be addressed. They were better than nothing. Mass production allows iterative improvement and steady cost reduction and quality improvement. It has a magic quite distinct from whatever is being mass produced. Humanoids aren’t the optimal general use robot form. The next level is Utility Fog, but that requires advanced molecular manufacturing -nanotechnology. Utility Fog could form humanoid bodies or any other sort of body as needed. Now take that and attach it to the side of your jumper so it adheres to a vertical surface About the multipurpose humanoids- these can be used to quickly identify damages in a human unit because it will be calibrated and syncing - so it would be an empathy function to help medical professionals identify a problem before other tests and procedures are needed, which saves time and energy. The humanoid could then send a report to a different machine and then it would be a little easier to prescribe treatments because the reading would be accurate because it would be calibrated to a cellular level 🤔⚡️✨️ well nuclear reactions are triggered so this would require a set of waves, possibly electromagnetic waves, and they would need to basically float the neutrons... hmm. Okay you have magnetism and diamagnetism, you would need to bounce the waves just right to suspend the reactive material and force it to be separated from what triggers the reaction. Then while this is active you can diffuse the bomb as normal.. this is outside of my current understanding, but it's possible Well wait a minute, I lesrned yesterday that radioactive materials transform into other materials, and that radiation itself is just an energy output that travels through matter. So you would have to make a counter-force that would neutralize it but if you overdo it this could trigger the explosion.
