Israeli archaeologist Ze’ev Herzog provides his view on the historicity of the Exodus: *The Israelites never were in Egypt. They never came from abroad. This whole chain is broken. It is not a historical one. It is a later legendary reconstruction — made in the seventh century [BCE] — of a history that never happened*>> <<@fordprefect5304 says : Ancient Jericho(1997–2015) by Prof Lorenzo Nigro In any case, the ruins of Tell es-Sultan include massive collapsed and burnt mudbrick structures. One may imagine that the terrible destructions suffered by the Canaanite city both in the 3rd and 2nd millennium BC had surely become part of the local shared memory, and possibly were narrated as the Jerichoans had been able to overcome them almost every time. *There is no way, however, to link them directly to the Bible* , except for the fact that the biblical author may have reused one of these stories to validate the historicity of his narration (Liverani 2003, 316–317). The ruins at Tell es-Sultan are far older than the alleged date of Joshua’s conquest. Moreover, if we consider the time when the biblical text was written (the 6th century BC), or that when it was orally transmitted (12–7th centuries BC), as well as the long story of its written transposition, it is clear how hazardous is any attempt to seriously identify something on the ground with biblical personages and their acts (Liverani 2003, 313–321). Nonetheless, the already famous ruins of Jericho were exploited by the biblical author giving them an everlasting fame.>> <<@anthonymarlowe6986 says : Never believe in any pagan Christian historians.>> <<@WatcherNine says : Nope. No one could logically argue that the flood story came from the ancient Sumerians for example. So when they "prove" a historical "fact" or relic that they claim gives legitimacy to the Old Testament they really aren't. Or they find a piece of evidence for events in history and make this grand leap that it proves the entire bible story. Like when a piece of evidence showed Hebrew slaves. I'm sure there were some Hebrew slaves. But there is nothing to show global slavery nor exodus of what would have been several million people. That is a fallacy and the type of fallacy the apologists use in most of their arguments. Repeating something like is a sure sign of a poor thinker. Just pause to think about that pseudo-principle for a minute. Yesterday I was walking around my neighbourhood looking for evidence that the area had been nuked the day before. I looked and looked but could find no evidence whatsoever. That is absence of evidence. It was clear that I had good evidentiary grounds for concluding that my neighbourhood had not in fact been nuked. In other words, the absence of evidence served as evidence for absence (in this case, of a nuclear explosion). Also, my mother claimed that an African elephant had been living in my bedroom while I was away for a week. But when I came back I found no evidence for this (all the furniture was just as before, etc). I concluded that my mother was fibbing. Again, I had taken absence of evidence to be evidence of absence. Examples like this my be multiple indefinitely.>> <<@NewEnglandPuritain says : 1:13 you still failed to explain the falling of the walls, the timeline of events, and/or gods intervention with the Jewish people at Jericho. Lucifer was mentioned only a few times and Jesus said he was the morning star. The line in the Bible was Satan saying to Lucifer how far you’ve fallen. Lucifer is Jesus, remember Jesus went to hell for 3.5 days for us for our sins! The 1st testament god is a mean and jealous god that punishes. The 2nd testament God is a loving and forgiving God that saves not punishes. This is the true Almighty Alpha & Omega God the one Jesus prays to. This God aka Elohim is 2 in 1(The Male & Female merged) Jesus said to the Jews I do not worship your god because he’s from below, mine is from heaven. So father god in the 1st testament is different and he exults himself higher, he is Satan. The 10 commandments came from Satan. Follow Jesus in goodness and love that’s the new covenant. You abide by government rules and commandments but forsake love and you let them make you their slave!!! That’s what Satan is and wants. Genesis 1:27 1st Woman Lucifer aka Jesus 1st Wife to Adam Genesis 2:23 2nd Woman Eve 2nd Wife to Adam Adam is Satan aka father god.
