It's still unnatural for an asian woman to have orange hair (generally), however it's much less unnatural than Pink hair. He also has that positive in-group bias towards a partner of his same race and potentially culture. None of those things were allowed to be said aloud, however that is his "revealed" preference. It's the same concept as when a woman says she only dates 6' guys but dates a 5'8'' because of an unspoken criteria. "Claimed" Preference vs Revealed Preference.
