Capitalism though by itself always seeks to lower the costs that it consumes in order to maximize it's own profits which includes paying employee's less overtime or employing less and less people overtime per widget made, i.e. if there are two widgets in a store that look and act the same, you don't say to yourself I will choose the expensive one. And the lack of competition is what will keep prices of goods high, again there used to be 120 car manufacturers and now only handful. There are now only 10 distributors for all our foods and essentials.
