Due Rocky support those codecs on free Resolve version, or just on Studio version? Due Rocky supporting

The Blackmagic 'Desktop video' application and drivers are incredibly important to anyone running a professional system with a Decklink card fitted... 'upgrading' to 8.10 breaks the existing install (installing the video driver on 8.6 is fine); - a previously working Decklink card will cease to be detected. - Whilst upgraded drivers are available; these are not simple to install! - Bit of a nightmare for the inexperienced in fact! - Blackmagic's installation instructions are (to say the least) cryptic!

Sorry, but if DaVinci doesn't accept MP4 (with H264 and H265) on Linux, that means an extra conversion step (to MOV?)!!! It requires effort and energy on my part, for so little benefit!!! As I wrote earlier, the combination of Windows with DaVinci has 50 years ahead of it!! Thanks again for your videos!! Always interesting.

The Davinci Resolve Studio version has some issues with fusion templates (such as titles) on Mint and unfortunately support can't help as they don't support this distro. Before watching this video I installed rocky, then installed resolve, which i had to install maybe 3 packages that were missing... then i just followed the instructions on rockys website to install nvidia, and all seems ot be working? Is there something i am missing on my install?? as personally trying linux for the first time that seems easier than using the blackmagic iso and upgrading?

I am pleased to have been able to get Resolve working on Ubuntu 24.04 over the weekend, thanks entirely to the wonderful automated installer known as JDInstaller. I bought an Intel NUC 12 about 18 months ago, just shortly before Intel sold the NUC range to ASUS. I tired of Windows 11 fairly quickly, especially as I am not willing to pay the exorbitant product key fee, and decided to take the plunge after a few years off of Linux. In spite of Intel providing Linux support for the NUCs, ASUS support desk was very helpful in pointing out that they have no interest in supporting users outside of Windows. Never mind, I got it all working myself with the help of the intelligent folks on the internet and I now marvel at my new desktop running Discord, Steam, Resolve, Zoom, etc! If the proprietor says "we can't help you," don't give up! I thought I'd share this comment in case some of you want to use Resolve but not in Rocky Linux -- it can be done, with moderate difficulty in getting it set up!

Thank you so much. I installed it successfully. One thing to mention here is that Rufus doesn't work , I didn't check etcher. I made iso USB via command line in my linux mint terminal. So, the installation destination showed media. 🎉. As my Windows 11 is also on the same pc so I pulled all power cables from other Hard-Disks as well during the installation on an nvme separately.

That's absolutely insane. There has to be a less convoluted way to get NVidia drivers working on a fresh install of the latest version of simply the version you want/need to run. I haven't owned an NVidia card in years, but apparently things haven't improved in the least in the last 15 years. Neither side is willing to budge to make things work better for the end user.
