Electronics, food storage, and everyday tools became cheap and accessible to billions of people. --- ### The Catch-22: Form Follows Breakdown The exact reason plastic is a miracle material is also why it's an ecological nightmare: **it doesn't degrade.** Nature doesn't know what to do with petroleum-based polymers. Kevlar, replaceable plastic panels, lignin - anything, that not breaks. Also, all protection measures that are implemented in cases (corners, mostly) can be integrated in phone design.
