Yes, there were pastors, bishops, elders, deacons, evangelists and apostles in the New Testament but none of them were actually paid once, let alone salaried, unlike today. There are too many hirelings in the body of Christ. No one should expect financial compensation for simply teaching the Bible. Salvation is a free gift. Trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ exclusively as the complete payment for your sins and you will be saved. And if there is ever a temporary „leader“ then there needs go be switched places sometimes. Because we have only one Master, only one Authority and that is Jesus Christ himself. So if Christians HAD the guts, they could still not speak in front of all the people. They’re coming to church (many for the first time) and if Christ be in that church just a smidge, He’s teaching them! I never heard a pastor that didn’t interpret the scripture inaccurately at least once or twice. Grabbing your kids and leaving is a bit of a splash. If you must leave it’s best to go quietly. We have to look very carefully at why Jesus was calling leaders wolves… And it wasn’t just because of a difference of opinion on theology… Wolves are people that are not in love with Jesus that are looking to divert and destroy peoples faith. If they don't see an issue or support the Pastor's positions then it's time to find a new Church. If they are aware and the majority plan on disciplining the Pastor or replacing him then one can probably wait and give the process a chance to work.>>
