1:40 The rational basis I use for morality, as an atheist, is does this action cause or alleviate suffering? It really is that simple. I’m not saying that religion’s morals are wrong or incorrect, however I AM saying that I don’t think God’s “moral”. The concept of Hell in and of itself is disgusting and cruel. A diety whom threatens a fate such as THAT upon his creations shouldn’t be beloved and trusted by all; he should be hated and condemned for such a terrible and (in my opinion) incorrect moral compass.

Atheism is neither a philosophy, world view or 'logical' philosophy. It simply is a response to 'does a god exist'. nothing more. Atheist do not deny evil exists. You just need to look to religion for that. Also, evil exists because - people have different wants, needs and beliefs. The least moral people I've ever known were found during my religious period. Why? Because I can be forgiven anything! Atheist are responsible for their own actions or at least held to a societal standard of moral behavior. The rational basis for morals is enhancing the collective good while minimizing the collective bad. It is a survival instinct brought about through evolution. Who cares what the Russian people think. That is their culture, their beliefs have no impact on beliefs in say, Mexico. Mr. Lennox is right in one regard, atheism doesn't remove suffering. But neither does religion. Religion only offers, "you are suffering because you aren't any good. You are fallen. You will never be any good". I prefer to live in the real world and realize that sometimes, bad things happen. This too shall pass.

You know that hell will let loose soon when the war breaks out. It is the religious people who polluted the environment of the mind, and politicians polluted the global environment, all leading to perfect hell. So the devil and his religions from the last 5000 years since Abraham created this mess. Now this globe has to be destroyed and created again so that gods can live on this planet again

Humans are moral, well some, but there are a million ways to die. That's just the way it is. GAWD is an illogical concept. Rational Justification Requires Falsification. If any claim cannot be falsified or demonstrated it is not true. Athiesm doesn't make a positive claim. Athiesm is a rejection of a claim because it cannot be falsified or demonstrated. How many claims do you believe that cannot falsified or demonstrated substantiated on faith? Faith is a fool with no reason. Religion defies the rules of logic that demonstrate objectivity because they do not comport with reality. Virgins don't have babies, the earth wasn't created in 6 days, and an all knowing gawd wouldn't allow prayer if it has volition. GAWD is intellectual dishonesty❤

Among the abject nonsense spouted forth by this ill informed individual is the ridiculous claim that “ an atheistic worldview must permit all behaviours without a way to judge what is good or evil”. My mother is strongly atheist, one of Europe’s most senior judges and has no difficulty at all in recognising evil and dealing with it appropriately. Also strongly atheist, I spend a significant part of my professional life prosecuting christian clergy, charged with rape and other heinous crimes against innocent children, foolishly entrusted to their care. The evil of organised religion is abundantly clear.

Unlike the religious, who form groups of similarly indoctrinated bigots, commonly claiming moral superiority to the rest of us, atheists, outside the deeply dysfunctional US at least, are simply individuals who independently of each other, don’t subscribe to the nonsensical belief in invisible sky fairies, able to suspend the laws of nature at will. Why anyone might imagine that I have some responsibility to explain why there is evil in the world, is beyond explanation. It’s interesting to observe that the moist functional and socially cohesive of the worlds nations, such as the Nordic nations, are generally secular nations where the vast majority of its citizens don’t believe in the nonsense of “gods” In contrast, deeply dysfunctional countries such as the US, Saudi and Turkey, lack social cohesion and tolerance, with poorly educated, heavily indoctrinated citizens prepared to indulge in displays of religious extremism, fanaticism and warmongering in support of their nonsensical superstition. Spending much of my professional life prosecuting christian clergy for rape and other heinous crimes against innocent children, foolishly entrusted to their care, I regard christian religions as some of the most evil organisations ever to darken life on this planet.

lennox set up his own question is such a way that benefits him and him only, What he is talking about and calling an illogical philosophy is nihilism, which is 100 percent different from atheism. Nihilism is the belief that there is no purpose to life, no good, no evil, and that since everything exists for no reason, there is no purpose to anything. Atheism on the other hand is not a belief at all. In fact, its the opposite. Atheism is the lack of belief in a higher being, so the only illogical thing about this video is lennox trying to say that atheism is what its not.

They illogically and unscientifically dismiss the valid possibility any current scientific consensus could be wrong if any of the limitations apply. Dogmatic Scientism is a much, much more significant problem than most realize. To me, Dogmatic Scientism is clearly public enemy #1. There would be no Atheism without it.

LOL,..First, it is a false assumption already predetermined and predicated by a certain belief in a God. Who is to say that a morality isn't an innate aspect of all animals? And/or an aspect merely cultivated in the human mind and civilization over time? Certainly, in history we see how people's views of morality have changed in regards to what is accepted or considered "evil". Certainly, we see different views of morality in different places. Certainly, we even see diverse interpretations of "morality" within the believers adhering to/following the same scriptures and texts and how various aspects have changed over time.

This is what happens if you debate atheism between two theists with not an atheist in sight. It allows you to misrepresent atheism within the first second of your argument and then continue on this false premise... Right of the bat Frank claims that for atheists there is no such thing as good or evil, but this statement is already false. Because for atheists there most definitely is good and evil, but these are subjective labels, where theists will claim they are objective. The whole discussion is whether morality is subjective or objective. As many appologists they confuse denying morality as a objective standard with denying morality as a whole, which simply isn't true. And this whole video builds upon that misconception.... Not believing morality is objective doesn't mean atheists cannot label things as good or evil, they still can. But when they do so, they recognize it as a personal judgement and not an absolute position. Things I consider evil, others might find justified and visa versa the same. So basically both Turek and Lennox are criticizing a position here that atheism doesn't hold, which is called a strawman argument...
