I really enjoy shooting slingshots, I've made a couple based on your designs and the one im using most frequently is a variation of your three pillars of destruction slingshot with a protection shield. The issue I have and that keeps me from enjoying the shooting is that my bands always tear up after a couple of shots no matter what I do. I used to shoot triple thera band with it but those bands tore after about 15 20 shots everytime. I have since switched to shooting the theratube black and have modified the slingshot to attach the bands with chinese attachment method (on the O screws), but the tubes also tear after a couple of shots at the place where they are tied (between the O ring and the string). I tried everything: zipties, thick string, thin string (using the constrictor knot) the thick string will untie or tear through the rubber after like 40 50 shots and the thin string doesn't untie if I tie a double constrictor (one on top of the other) I have done just that right now and the bands started to tear at the same place as before after like 10 shots. I'm really struggling to keep shooting the slingshot because as much as I love it it is frustrating to have to tie new bands or shorten the bands and tie them after every 30 shots, I spend more time tying on the rubber than actually shooting. I was hoping you could tell me, how much faster do bands shoot than tubes? Like I have a loop tube and a band slingshot, the draw weight s are 28 lbs on the tube and only 18 lbs on the flat. The tube hits a lot harder, but I've heard flats shoot faster for less draw weight. How many pound draw would I need on the flat to equal the power of the 28 lb tube one? If you don't know, no problem, I've been meaning to get a chronograph anyway. I could figure it out with that and my draw weight scale for sure. Keep up the content!
