Whom came up with this idea??? I can see this used to assassinate individuals. The secret service better pay attention and have a defense in place. Drones have already changed the elements of combat.

11:00 dont know if its being utilised but you could 100% utilise that lateral motion from the jump and the 'Pogo-stick' to create some sort of electro-mechanical motion but in the reverse effect so it could charge a small battery or capacitor

Developing a light portable power source for these robots is the real problem. Until this happens, this research is just a curiosity. But if they ever finally develop the needed power source, then they will have something really useful! So the research should really focus on the power source. If insects can do it, then it is possible!

Why are researchers bound by energy sources which involve either combustion or electric energy? Insects don’t use either of these. They use bio-chemical muscles to accomplish astonishing strength exercises or amazing flight durations. Why are we not developing bio-chemical engines (muscles) instead?

20 years ago I read about robot insects already being invented by China. It was in popular science or popular mechanics articles. They had already mastered rice grain sized robots at that time. I guess people forgot that. Explains why nobody believes in self assembling nano bots in their blood.

Progress is that they first save your life, then they spy on you and then they kill you. Science always works to the detriment of man. They'll be tiny little poison injectors on the battlefield and they'll be built by the millions by robots. And then...there'll be nothing but robots.
