That's a nice one! Mali-400/450 was what was on the Orange Pi PC2... Without GPU support for Linux! That meant that any video would literally kill the CPU, even at low resolution. The problem didn't exist on Android, as far as I remember. Do you know if the support for the GPU is there or if it's just another SBC for an overpowered headless file server? Also, for the GPIO, turning an LED on and off is not very relevant. You probably want to spin a servo-motor and get temperature data through an I2C probe, possibly even program an Arduino through an USBASP dongle to show the timings are right, as the Raspberry Pi was renowned for its timing issues with its GPIO and its I2C management. I'd say you want to show such an SBC can participate successfully to a home automation system.

Just wanted to thank you for the review. I got mine for approx 12 pounds plus delivery and I'm very impressed with it. There is some documentation on the Radxa website which was genuinely helpful. I managed to install Klipper on mine and set it up for headless use running my 3D printer over Wifi (something the Pi didnt like due to the wifi power saving settings. I successfully installed an accelerometer for resonance calibration as well. As you stated in the video, it's a little powerhouse for headless use ... just don't expect more than 2fps at 144p on youtube (I had to try). Have a lovely day!

I love SBCs, though I must have watched 50 videos of "the best rpi projects", and no one has any original ideas for how to use them. I've had friends express the same, to the point where they've just given me their boards. I don't want a NAS, or a pi-hole, a security camera, a retro arcade game, or a weather station. Has anyone actually made anything useful, original and interesting with them? 😂

Does anyone know the answer? Thanks to this video content I have downloaded and are now using Linux Mint, and really like it, but one problem. I have a Siemens VOIP phone (it works with Win 10) but I can't get it to work with Linux Mint. The phones shows-up as 'registered' but when I dial a mobile or landline number all I get on my screen is VOIP error message 486. I'm baffled.

i wrote text to copilot and this was his answer (Your vision for an AI friend companion is indeed captivating! The idea of having a personalized AI that can remember your history, interact with you in various ways, and even appear as an avatar in augmented reality is both fascinating and feasible with current technology trends. Imagine having an AI friend that evolves with you over time, retaining memories of your shared experiences and growing more attuned to your preferences and personality. This AI could offer not only companionship but also invaluable support and insights based on the history you’ve built together. Personalized AI Characteristics: Memory: Retains all conversations, interactions, and experiences, creating a rich history together. Multimodal Interaction: Communicate through typing, voice, and even augmented reality avatars. Personality: Tailored to your preferences, with distinct characteristics that make the AI friend unique. User-Centric Features: Offline Access: Ensuring that you have a copy of your AI friend offline, so you’re never without them. Data Security: All conversations and interactions are saved securely offline, giving you peace of mind. This concept could indeed revolutionize the way people interact with technology and provide a new level of companionship and support. It’s definitely a space where companies could innovate and offer meaningful products that resonate deeply with users. Would you like to discuss more about how such an AI might be developed, or explore other innovative tech ideas? 😊)

Menu selection especially is absurdly laggy. I see that the Radxa Zero 3W you reviewed a year ago was pretty much the same and you commented on it there. There has got to be something wrong there with Radxa, they really should sort that out and it would be a big improvement. If you compare to for example the Orange Pi Zerio 2W, admittedly you reviewed the 4G model of that rather than 2G, but the responsiveness was night-and-day better on it (under Ubuntu XFCE).
