Just finished watching the movie which was prompted by watching this review some time ago. Dunkey knows his stuff, for that he is an artist. The movie is great, however, I felt like restaurant scene was dragging for too long. I was watching recut version which made the movie longer, I can bet that at least half of that scene was cut from theatrical release.

I was trying to find this video on my folk's prime account, as I got it back then, but I couldn't find it. I really appreciate your video essay as it prompted me to see the film as well, even revisiting this to find the title, it still succinctly captures what ride one can expect. I hope maybe you can touch upon another old film in the future, but if maybe you were to revisit this again, I'd think it'd be cool to hear your thoughts about the ending, there was much more color and vibrancy if I recall and it was speaking on humanity still prevailing despite the inanities. I just feel lost in this moment, deep thought in the comical feels like the only solace

they used the old classic "Donkey Kong's Trick" with this film. fixed camera angles, prerendered (;)) backdrops make it so that the characters in every scene could be visually stunning and animated over a seemingly incredibly detailed backdrop, but are actually just shuffling through the confines of smoke and mirrors. This really is the Resident Evil 1 Remake (for GC) in cinematic form. BRAVA BRAVA

Wow, never thought I'd hear anyone else talk about this quiet gem of a movie. A friend introduced it to my group for a movie night, and primed us for it with an explanation that it's not a modern movie. Its from an era when people could still get a huge budget for what amounts to experimental art. And what a piece of art it is! Also, its a nice subversion to see you tackling something without turning it into a joke. That's not a criticism of your style or format, just noting that this was an unexpected treat on multiple levels.
