Elizabeth was adamant for a long time about having her cousin and fellow Queen executed, even though neither one actually met in real life, they wrote to one another very often. It's a shame that the world pushed Mary to be the way she was, trying to be Queen of both England and Scotland. Fredric March plays Lord Bothwell and Florence Eldridge as Queen Elizabeth. Ian Keith portrays Mary's halfbrother, James Stewart, the Earl of Moray. Not to mention, this classic was helmed by the legendary John Ford. The film depicts a fictional confrontation between the two Queens.
