The difference between Bernie Madoff and Musk is that I think that Elon really believes he can do these things, or at least he believes that his genius employees can. I really am starting to believe that his knowledge of physics is that bad. He actually believes his own press and his fanboys that all hail him a genius and maybe the smartest person on the planet. After all, he hears that every day and on every news channel. That is why he just pulls shit literally from his ass and thinks his people will make it work. I always envision his engineers and scientists doing an in sync palm face slap every time Elon goes on stage or on camera and pulls some new idea out of his ass. They know it’s impossible, but he doesn’t and if you tell him it’s impossible, he’ll just fire you,so they just go on with the designing of something they know will fail. All the while they know that billions of investment dollars are being burned up everyday. It’s just a matter of how many years Musk can claim, “….we’ll have this by next year..” before even the media and fanboys finally figure it out that he’s a fraud and doesn’t know the first thing about physics or engineering.
