It’s not a picture. It’s a composite of a bunch of computers over many hours. The bits were arranged by the decoders and garbage in= garbage out. There are no black holes

So interesting. Why black hole's black side or shadow are always face to us. If it curves space there should be light all around that sphericly. And we couldn't even see black hole.

Relativistic beaming (or Doppler boosting) is the phenomenon where emission from material moving at near-light speeds is concentrated forward in the direction of motion, significantly increasing its observed luminosity and frequency. Commonly observed in astrophysical jets from black holes, this effect makes approaching jets appear much brighter and bluer, while receding jets are suppressed and often invisible. Key details about relativistic beaming: Mechanism: It is a consequence of special relativity, often called the "headlight effect" because radiation concentrates in the direction of motion. Appearance: Approaching components are boosted in brightness, while receding ones are diminished. Astrophysical Importance: It explains the brightness asymmetries in Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) and blazars, where the relativistic jets are pointed close to the line of sight. Other Names: Doppler boosting or the headlight effect.

<<@florh

see, now this is a very nice explanation about a black hole, which is exactly the event horizon, where is the limit for photons, where is the limit for matter, how light behaves... while other videos make you believe that the event horizon is the inner most part of the accretion disc (where in your explanation this is the inner most stable orbit for matter), and nothing not even light can escape, while that is NOT the case, that would be the photonsphere at 1.5 schwarzschild radii was it? great job man!

I love Veritasium, but this video perpetuates the major misconception about the EHT project. While it is a huge engineering triumph, the final image was reconstructed from less than 1% of the necessary data (sparse u-v coverage). To generate a picture, the algorithms had to fill in the missing 99% using 'priors' that favored General Relativity—essentially, we trained the camera to look for donuts. Most importantly, the result isn't precise enough to claim definitive proof. The shadow size is degenerate, meaning it can't distinguish between a standard Einsteinian Black Hole and various alternative gravity theories that predict the same shadow diameter.
