I've used Fedora in a virtual machine in the past, and it's still much harder to use & configure than something like Linux Mint. Speaking of Linux distro's, have you heard of one called Peppermint OS? If not, it's a light weight distribution that looks a lot like Linux Mint, except it has a black and red theme to it, although it functions much the same as any Debian based system. Navigating gnome is a thing in itself, use of the keyboard is the way to navigate, everything is instant, just a bit miffed why you insist on clicking your mouse on things while using gnome, you can maximise by dragging to the top and snap left and right by dragging to the sides. As far as Gnome, these shortcomings are hardly unique to Gnome. Every Linux I've used has a lack of development of the GUI. Right click interface has been around for decades. Windows and Mac have very deep integration with this. As well as providing hooks for 3rd parties to avail themselves of the right click menu for things like Adobe Bridge, Notepad++, VSC etc. It's bonkers to me they haven't caught up on this. But it's kind of obvious that many if not most Linux users are going straight to the command prompt. It's part of the culture. Minimize and maximize buttons *are* part of GNOME. You have to install GNOME Tweaks to enable them. Not very different than just installing an extension since you still have to go out and install something, but its worth noting that these buttons still exist without 3rd party community efforts. Vanilla GNOME is a blank slate for you to customize to your liking.
