Microsoft users should switch to Buefin Linux. Everything is automatic just install make minor adjustments if you wish and that is it. All updates are automatic. Just like Win 11 load and go.

Chris, I saw your 2-year-old video on installing Windows 11 on unsupported hardware. That all made sense, but lately a simpler method has been making the rounds. It goes something like this: 1) Get the Windows 11 ISO 2) Use file explorer to "mount" the ISO as a virtual drive 3) Open a command prompt as administrator 4) Access the virtual drive and type a command to manually run it, with some "magic" parameters to bypass the hardware checks 5) Select "install Windows 11 server" with option to save your files. But actually the installation will match the same variant you already have (home, pro, etc). This seems superior to others because it doesn't require any extra software plus it doesn't require any registry hacks. So my question is whether this approach actually works and what are the "gotchas" for it? I don't exactly trust all the folks pushing this approach, but I'd trust it if you recommend. Thanks!

I hate Microsoft now. I won't go back to Windows anymore. They just got too much money hungry and telling people to spend more money on new PCs, laptops and throwing away good working Laptops and PCs that will in landfills and killing the planet way more. Microsoft, you suck now.š

I think I'll have to go with 10 LTSC, for as long as possible... quite the hassle, but I have handy utility apps which are native and I'm not ready to let go, and production software (eff you, Adobe) I'm bound to which simply do not have a 1:1 replacement on Linux. I'm certainly not going to spend one rotten cent on the garbage* that is 11. *you won't even let me put the taskbar up top, as a civilized person would do? sod off, ya wankers.

I switched to Linux (POP!_OS specifically) about a month after the end-of-support announcement originally came out. I have been loving it so far and since I only use programs similar to Office at most, with mainly gaming as the big reason for having my PC, I haven't really had any major problems.

I can't support Microsoft anymore. The instrusive ads, spyware, and ever-increasing bloat of Windows was already a huge problem. Condemning my perfectly good PC to an e-waste dump was what drove me away for good. Zorin OS has been my daily driver for almost a year now it's been quite a smooth transition (big thanks to this channel for introducing me to it) and I've found a lot of free and interesting open source software since then that I've really liked. I'm never going back to Windows.

Not to worry, on Microsoft's website all latest Security Intelligence Updates remain updated twice a day, even for Windows Vista. The links point to executable files. Simply download and install if not triggered automatically. For work, we have laptops with W10, and at home we are still on W7 without any hassle. I made it a personal game trying to use XP this way as long as possible. In was only 3 years ago now that I changed to W7, lol. Never ever had I any security issues despite all stereotypical warnings and even hysteria. We will be using W7 as long as we possibly can at home, and for work (W10) we will be on extended support as a worldwide company.

I switched from Win8.1Pro to Mint KDE 18.3 . Then Mint dumped KDE. Hating Mint 4ever since,I went back to Win10Pro. Because Win11's a NoGo, I was about to switch to Fedora 42 KDE. Now, however. due to IBM&RedHat-'s overburdening woke&DEI policies, 't was gonna be MX 23 KDE! However, Debian's politicking's a Red Flag. Since Arch's Manjaro's ditto, Linux's becoming a NoGo 4 me as well. Th-us&ere4 I'll go the Win10 IoT E'prise LTSC 21H2 route, which might last me till 2032 (although crucial App/Browser-support probably won't). :_[ hYlkeW

At the beginning of this year, 2025, my girlfriend bought a quite powerful 17" gaming laptop with Windows 11 Home. Apart from a few little visual adjustments to the desktop and of course the installation of her required third-party programs, she left the OS as it came preinstalled... and so far, she hasn't had any problems with Windows 11. I`m a so-called "hardcore gamer" and so, I`ve ti switch to Windows 11 because I don`t like anything with Linux when it comes to gaming and playing my favorite games all based only on Windows.

Actually Windows 10 64 bit LTSC iso file is available on the site Internet Archive. Is better to use 2021 version 21H2 allowing official Microsoft support until 2031. With tweaking of register from Windows by using RegEdit with administrator account making the system think it is already LTSC that Windows can be installed without losing files, data, pictures, installed software or drivers. Use tutorials on YouTube. As one YouTuber said Google is your friend how to activate your license. Bon chance ! Good news - the system will get security updates without interrupting with feature updates.
