How about using Dyneema and flemish twist string for crossbows, same way it is done for recurve bows? I use Dyneema SK75 for bow strings and they perform excellent. But i hear Dynaflight97 and Mercury 2 are even better materials. Not sure what kind of Dyneema u used and if flemish twist is inferior to your type of twisting.

Wow! You’re awesome! I’ve been looking for a while on an aftermarket string that would be better than the OEM string, for my reverse bat crossbow. No luck until I was tipped off about your U-Tube channel. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for!!! I am now a subscriber to your channel! Thank you!!!

Now, I can't help but wonder whether there would be any visible improvement if I were to replace the string on my Asiatic bows with Dyneema ... I mean in terms of speed and lifetime. I shoot 200-280 arrows/hour, for 1-3 hours at once, thumb draw (with a leather finger tab now, Korean Sugakjiring soon).

Dyneema is very impressive; ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, or UHMWPE. I carry some thicker Dyneema fishing line in my EDC kit just in case I need to tie something together or even make a clothes drying line or something. Insanely strong for its thickness. It seems like a no-brainer to use the material for bow strings.

Was going to buy a 90lb limb. Was sick of broken bolts/fletching..bought a few mtrs dyneema and made a string 1cm longer than my adder string. It's now 2cm longer and hangs on the rail. Catches every time never had a missfire and bolts stop in target before the fletchings. Thanks for the video saving me a fortune in bolts

Vielen Dank, Joerg! I thought it was going to be complicated, but by carefully following Joerg’s steps, one by one, I just made my first two bowstrings. Once you understand the principle, it’s super easy. My 75 lb bow even feels more powerful with the first string I made (which is noticeably shorter than the second one). Thank you, Joerg!

Can you now manufacturer these strings for the adder, the siege, the interceptor and the REVO 7? I will definitely buy a couple of each! Let's get them into production! 3mm please! Let's get that power up a bit. I just got my INTERCEPTOR, and would love a 3mm string made of this material. Thank you 🎯🏹

Is this available for the cobra siege already done? So you can have multiple dyneema siege 300 strings on hand?
>>
<<@blackhand9581
says :
The solution is duct tape and heat shrink tube Wrap a single layer of duct tape on the point of contact. Then slip a heat shrink tube on it. The tape acts as a barrier to prevent the string from getting frayed when you start replacing the tube

I bought 1/8" Dyneema rope, unfortunately it is quite thicker than 3.175 mm, more like 4. But it will get used. Second try was 2 mm rope and that is way better, just a pain to splice with a plastic straw and copper wire. The best tool for really small diameter of woven string is a 12" cheap thermometer from farm/surplus store. The tube is hollow, thin wall stainless steel and about 2.5 mm with a point. Inside is a thin rigid wire which you can bend in half and squeeze the bend to a nice point. Less than $5 CAD. Just thought I'd share this 😃

Hello Mr. Sprave. I have a question about building the bowstring yourself with Dyneema. Since you cannot or should not twist the Dyneema tendon, do you use the length of the twisted tendon, otherwise it would be too long?

Joerg, the serving needed is High powered fishing line,... its used on some Compound bow strings. The recurve crossbow strings I see look like just a bunch of B-50 strands and a cloth serving. But, if you use fishing string for a serving it is much stronger to ware and it protects the string. As for your strings Dyneema I'd add bees wax for added strength. Joerg~ Dyneema is a type of bow string Dynaflight D-97, BCY FORMULA 8125 and DYNEEMA '02 ARE ALL BOW STRING MATERIALS. I'm thinking your Dyneema rope hack is like a Flemish string for Compounds.
