Why do you think we developed and tested a missing that could be fired from a fighter that could escape the atmopshere and strike a satellite? People often seem to forget that GPS is a military system. And with this capability, once a (nuclear) missile launch is detected by the satellite it can automatically start to jam/spoof the navigation of said missile. And if you talk to your satellites on the same frequency as well so the enemy can't jam you back? Brilliant. Credit where credit is due.
