Not only have people become selfish but they have the right to be. Nothing about this economy tells us it is stable and safe enough to do these things. Also yes, we have learned from the health complications, stress, hard work with little to no gain etc from the boomers...so that doesn't help much either. We are NOT excited for the future. But that's not what I think is happening in reality. Companies aren't getting cheaper labour, so that they can make more produce, and then the price goes down...what they do is: they control the supply to the market, and they put the extra money (from the cheaper labour) not into "making more stuff" but in increasing their profits. Thus the rich (who owns the companies) are getting richer, and the poor poorer. This is the actual problem. Greed. And it is supported (given a platform) by capitalism, which basically says: I have a right to become as rich as I want! Now that sounds nice, but only IF you are one of the Rich. Because with wealth comes power. So the rich can use their power to manipulate things into favouring them. And this is supported by capitalism. So then what ends up happening is: every one wants to become rich, because becoming rich is the only viable aspiration, as it is the only thing that makes sense (is favourable) in this capitalistic system. But the problem is not every one can become rich. It is a very narrow margin. So people lose hope/aspiration in life. As the only thing that looks good, is closed to them. So our problem is capitalism. And the wealthy elite system. And greed. And I say greed because: have you ever seen a Billionaire who is satisfied?>> <<@DJ-jq5rh says : The host and guest are Lost>> <<@randallaumiller8628 says : lol its all novel McKenna talked about this- ppl well go up and find something of substance eventually>> <<@adambernhagen1015 says : I have, I believe, I think, me, mine, I, Don’t trust people who talk like that. Overpriced residential purchase and rental prices create a domino effect throughout the economy. As housing becomes less affordable, people demand higher wages, prompting employers to raise prices to cover those wages. This cycle leaves people with less disposable income, leading to further wage demands. This issue began in the late nineties with the widespread accessibility of the internet. People started using new real estate websites to shop for houses, which previously required visiting a realtor in person. As realtors saw a surge in prospective buyers from a much wider area, they advised sellers to raise their house prices, perpetuating the cycle. For a perfect example of this phenomenon, look at how prices surged within two years of REA and Domain websites listing house sales in Tasmania around 2001. Tasmanians saw the price of a double-brick, three-bedroom house in a nice neighborhood jump from $200,000 AUD in 2001 to $500,000 by 2005. Retail prices for locally made goods skyrocketed over the same timeframe.>> <<@pauldichtel6410 says : The cost of education is a scam. Home prices are controlled by the banks so their books are in balance. I remember in 1979 interest rates were so high and my parents argued about money all of the time. I think a lot of people in my generation did not want children.>> <<@otgunz says : 1 month?
