You are saying that God wants all to be saved and if they are not all being saved, it's because of Him, because He want it like that (and you believe that to be impossible). Then how wold you justify God's choosing of his people only (the Jews in the Old Testament) for salvation and not the gentiles, because they (the gentiles) didn't all have the chance to know God and to believe in Him (only a few of them did). No he did not what he did get was Justice for his life and the sins against a living God that were not forgiven but he did not receive something that was unfair now the man that dies and new Christ and goes to heaven when he died did he receive Justice or Injustice ? Neither instead he received Grace a presidential pardon for his transgressions without which he would have been right next to the other guy in hell this is not complicated and it is not God doing anything wrong he has just chosen to give Grace to who he wanted to give Grace to and the way the Bible reads to me he looked down through time and knew all of the people that would choose him and he gave Grace to them, I'm really not sure of what the issue is with people hating Calvinism and even saying that it's heresy and not Christian I have yet to hear one thing that's unchristian-like come out of Calvinism I wouldn't even say I'm a calvinist a few years back it wasn't until I expressed what I thought and what my particular thoughts were on the Bible and how I interpreted it that a person I had no idea was a calvinist told me that I was and once I looked into it I didn't see anything that I disagreed with>> <<@nlievense2 says : I love Frank, he is a great servant of God! I would agree with him when he says that just because God knows all outcomes in advance doesn't mean that He condones them or is responsible for them, although He can influence them for good if He so chooses of course. God is not the author of evil which stems directly from our rebellion against God. However I would respectfully disagree with him on the subject of regeneration. Titus 3:3-7 reads as follows: 3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Being dead in our sins simply means that we cannot see our sinful nature for what it truly is, and the reality that our condition necessitates our separation from God who is utterly holy. If we are religious at all then we tend to think we are alright with God, or we can put off thinking about Him till a time of our own choosing. We are deceived as the first verse above states and human nature is to procrastinate endlessly. Therefore before we can accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour and be converted the Holy Spirit must first prick our conscience and wash or regenerate our spiritual vision so that we can clearly see our degenerate state, our current separation from God and our desperate need of a Saviour to absolve us of our sins. The Holy Spirit effectively operates on our conscience and our spiritual vision, removing the scales from our eyes so to speak. This is precisely what happened to Saul on the road to Damascus - arguably the most notable conversion in the Bible. He was chided verbally which stung his conscience and blinded physically but he was initiated spiritually. God can speak to us directly like he did to Saul or more commonly indirectly, such as hearing the good news of the gospel being preached which is what happened to Charles Spurgeon for example. The Holy Ghost facilitates our understanding on a spiritual level - removes our worldly blindfold - and we are compelled to choose a side between good and evil once and for all. No more sitting on the fence! This initial uninvited and unmerited act of spiritual regeneration essentially reveals to us that we are at a spiritual crossroads in life, and either we willingly continue on the broad way to destruction or we change course and take the narrow road of deliverance which is on offer. Some people find themselves at this crossroads very early in life, others much later. Once we have accepted God's gracious offer of salvation then the Holy Spirit immediately takes up residence within us, and the ongoing process of renewal continues until we physically die. We can now address Frank's criticism of Calvinistic regeneration which is that if God desires all people to be saved, and if regeneration necessarily precedes our acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Saviour, then why isn't everyone saved? The first answer is that we should not confuse or conflate the initial act of regeneration by the Holy Spirit with our response to it. They are two separate things. Yes the Holy Spirit operates on our conscience and quickens us spiritually, persuading us that a definitive choice has to be made concerning our eternal destiny (and by sitting on the fence we are effectively making that choice by default), but He does not force us to side with good and reject evil! We are compelled to choose but the choice is still ours to make. Of course the stark reality of eternal separation from our heavenly Father and Creator if we refuse is the strongest form of smelling salts going and personally I couldn't say yes fast enough! Everyone is different though so some might require a minor operation while others like Saul may require major surgery, but ultimately God will prevail. There is no conflict here between our free will and God's sovereignty unless one takes a Hyper Calvinistic approach which leads to error. The second answer is that the initial act of regeneration is exactly that, merely an initial operation - a spiritual eye wash if you will. As Titus 3:5 implies renewal is a secondary ongoing process that continues for as long as we live after we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour. Babes in Christ still have a lot of spiritual growing to do. So why doesn’t the Holy Spirit facilitate everyone’s spiritual understanding then? This question assumes that He doesn’t but it is perfectly possible that He does. We all have a conscience for example. For Jeremiah 6:16 states: This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, 'We will not walk in it.' This strongly suggests that some people’s spiritual condition is terminal. You could say that they are very alive in their sins! Indeed we see people today who openly declare that they don’t care if there is a God or not, they simply don’t wish to be subject to His authority. They have already made their choice come what may. They despise God, and the worst thing they could think of is to spend eternity with Him. Others demand evidence yet when they receive it they continually move the goalposts. They will argue a black crow white as the saying goes. One can only surmise here but perhaps there is a difference between someone who is dead in their sins but truly ignorant in spiritual matters and someone who revels in their separation from God and goes to great lengths to flaunt it. Perhaps those people aren’t so ignorant as they like to let on, spiritually speaking. Is it any wonder God would pass these people by? God desires that they be saved but by their own admission they detest Him and reject Him outright, even if He proved to their ever evolving satisfaction that He did indeed exist! A wicked generation demands a sign. Or, what if they have already consciously thrown their lot in with the devil? Does Satan not approach people to recruit them to his nefarious cause? Are the devil and his demons standing idly by here? A cursory look at the music and entertainment industries should tell you the answer to that one. I digress. All of the above is subordinate to God's good pleasure in saving His chosen people whom He separated from before the foundation of the world, as the Bible clearly states. I am broadly speaking from my own experience over the years to offer my own perspective on these issues. I will conclude by saying that all true Christians are on a spiritual journey together helping to build God's eternal mansion and we should be respectful and considerate of others at all times. May God bless Frank and his ministry, please keep up the good work!>> <<@biblebill6206 says : Here is everyone listening ? the proper understanding of Rom 8 : 29 ,30 is God before you were born decided , predestined who he would "call" to be a Christian in their 1st life , not who would be saved , who wouldn't , that is what it means . Now there are 2 objections to calvinism I hear all the time. And Frank brings up both in this video. Objection 1. On calvinism there's no human responsibility for our actions. Objection 2. On calvinism Elohim is the author of evil. Almost everyone has These same 2 objections to Calvinism And to be perfectly honest I don't have any problems with either objection, and here's why. Paul answers both of these objections in Romans 9:14-24 KJV What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. [15] For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. [16] So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. [17] For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. [18] Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. [19] Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? [20] Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? [21] Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? [22] What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: [23] And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, [24] Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? So when I hear the same objections Paul Anticipated his critics saying in Roman's 9 then that gives me assurance that I have the same beliefs as Paul. So that is Paul's answer to Vlad's objections of calvinism. Now I have my own responses to both objections. First. Objection 1 in my opinion comes down to a difference of views of free will. Second. I would like to point out that Calvinist do believe in free will, we just have a different definition of free will. Most Arminians believe in what is called Libertarian free will, and most Calvinist believe in what is called Compatibilism or Compatibilistic free will. Now, this is highly debated, but my understanding is Libertarian free will is the belief that someone could have done otherwise, also know as The Principle of Alternative Possibilities. on this view we have the freedom to act contrary to one's nature, predisposition and greatest desires. Compatibilism is the belief that free will is the ability to do what you want at the time of the choice. And with that definition of free will determinism and free will are compatible. Because Elohim can determine what you want, but that doesn't mean that you didn't want to do what you did. Here are a couple of reasons why i don't believe in Libertarian free will 1. I don't believe Libertarian free will works logically. And here's why. The third, law of logic is the law of excluded middle, It means that a statement is either true or false. Think of it as claiming that there is no middle ground between being true and being false. Every statement has to be one or the other. Now consider this statement. Was it true when Zechariah wrote Zechariah 9:9 that in the future Yeshua would fulfill this prophecy? You can't say it's neither true or false, because that goes directly against the law of excluded middle. On Libertarian free will you can't say it's a true statement, because if Yeshua could have done otherwise then the statement above wasn't necessarily true when Zechariah wrote it. So you are forced to say it's a false statement, but if you say it's a false statement, you would have to be willing to say that prophecies are not true statements of the future, in which case all the future prophecies like Revelations are not necessarily going to happen. And I am not willing to accept that. 2. Now for the sake of the argument let's say I'm wrong about it being logically impossible, I think Libertarian free will actually destroys human responsibility. Libertarians say that our choices are not based on one's nature, desires or predisposition. They actually claim they're not based on anything. And if our choices aren't based on anything, then our choices are arbitrary, AKA random. And if all we do is randomly choose between stuff then it's pure luck that I chose not to sin that time. So how is that choice Praiseworthy? And it's just bad luck that the other time I chose to sin. So how can that be blameworthy? Objection 2. On Calvinism Elohim is the author of evil? Calvinist answer. Yes he is! Proverbs 16:4 KJV The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. Isaiah 45:7 KJV I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. Amos 3:3-6 KJV Can two walk together, except they be agreed? [4] Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing? [5] Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all? [6] Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it ? Lamentations 3:37-38 KJV Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? [38] Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good? So on Calvinism Elohim is the author of evil. Which would seem to make Elohim immoral. But on Arminianism Elohim is an allower of evil. Which is also immoral! Example. You are walking and you see someone getting murdered and you see a way to stop the murder from happening. Should you stop it from happening? Obviously you should stop it. And it would be immoral not to. But on Arminianism Elohim does this all the time. So all Christians both calvinist and arminian need to explain why Elohim appears to behave immoraly on their views. Both sides say that Elohim is allowed to do things that we are not. We can't play Elohim but He can. There are too many views on how this works to go over here. But this is my opinion. Elohim is literally more real than we are. The closest analogy that I know of is an author and his characters in the book he has written. G.A. Henty is not immoral for authoring evil in one of his books. And neither is Elohim. These are some of the reasons why I think these arguments against Calvinism fail.>> <<@dannyh.2861 says : Frank, where did Satan's desire to sin come from if he was created perfect?>> <<@st.christopher1155 says : There is not 1 biggest flaw.
