Is there a reason we don't use this type of water mining for other minerals? Like gold, copper, iron, etc.?

A lot of potash is mined in my home province Saskatchewan, Canada. I remember as a child getting to go for underground mine tours at K&S and Mosaic. There were demonstrations of how the process worked and i even got to lick the wall of one of the tunnels that they were draining😂 definitely salty

Nice! I was looking for this etymology yesterday, when making an interactive periodic table with name origins of elements. Two videos are just released around the same time with the exact name origins, the other I saw 5 minutes ago. If this is not synchronicity, I don't know what is.

Misleading title. The US does NOT produce half the world's potash. Edit: worded badly, but the main point stands

Help support 1/2 the population on earth?? I mean the science is cool for sure. But Utah Evaporator Ponds (Moab Facility) makes less than 0.2% of the world potash supply. Canada (Saskatchewan Mines Total) make 33% of the world’s supply and 80% of all of America’s agricultural potash.

Didnt mention why they are blue tho - dye is added to accelerate evaporation(absorbs more light/generates heat).
