It's a very common misconception that climate change is solely causing these heavy short rainfalls. But another big factor, also caused by humans, is the lack of what's called green water. Blue water is rain formed by oceanic evaporation. As kids, we are taught in school that it IS how rain forms. This is only partially true. On the planet, about 60% of the rainfall is from green water, IE rain that takes its source from clouds formed by vegetation perspiration, soil evaporation, and inland lakes and rivers. But what does mankind do ? They drain wetlands like in the Everglades to build cities and factories. They cut down wild forests for timber and to plant mono culture of pine trees. Pine trees are rubbish at forming clouds. Yet they form most of our plantations in Europe. We also cut down most of the hedgerows in our agricultural fields. We stopped having wild fields as fallow land. We put drains to remove excess winter rain. We straightened rivers so we could build easily nearby. Our soils are often naked between crops. We build greenhouses from which almost no water goes back to the sky. All of this contributes to the inability of our geography and natural landscape to recycle water when it falls, and to SLOW IT DOWN before it reaches the oceans. Instead, water will fall as one, often near the coast or when mountains stop the clouds. In the past, it would rain less, more frequently, and the rain would "hop" from one region to another region inland. Now you have rainshadow regions, not shadowed by mountains (like Death Valley for example) but by the lack of vegetation. Such a region in France is around Perpignan, where there is a severe drought. Rain used to travel from the Atlantic ocean towards the region near the Mediterranean sea. But now it doesn't... Pine forests, no hedgerows, naked soils... The WHOLE of France has had its aquifers recharged this winter thanks to frequent welcomed rains EXCEPT this one which is STILL in the red, and has been for 3 years straight...

How many rain drops have fallen since water existed on Earth? Over/under the current number of stars in the universe? I'm guessing over, but would love to see a deep dive into the question.

Did that guy just say "rain doesn't make dirt more slippery, it just decreases friction between the particles" Isn't that functionality the same thing?

Global climate changes are dependent on the Sun and the rapidly decreasing magnetic field. Man's use of "geo-carbon" fuels is irrelevant to the issue of weather or climate. One volcano emits 10 years worth of man's total CO2 contribution to the atmosphere. Plants love it. Crops love it. What's the problem? Too much rain? A drought? If you can't handle the weather, get out of farming. CronySocialism wants our resources. Biden sells our oil to China. Then, makes us buy it from Venezuela and The Arabs. Sen. Schammer won't allow a pipeline, and he's an owner of the railroad that gets used instead. Cha-ching! Give me Trump ☆ 2024 ☆ or Give me Death

Well, there you go again.. documenting and entertaining.. But finishing with unscientific and gratuitous.. and apparently reflexive fear porn comments about "dealing with the root causes of climate change"... cue the dramatic music!.. this statement about increases in natural disasters simply isn't grounded in facts and science. Then of course, the bad guy of gasses, CO2.. is just regurgitated fear porn.
