I like channels who keep it real. Like this one. The only good thing SpaceX has going is their falcon9 rocket.. and the engineer in charge of designing the engines and rocket is gone. I'm sure he would have not agreed to all the Starship nonsense. They could have developed their falcon9 in an even bigger beast, but now almost 2 billion is up in smoke and they haven't even gotten to orbit yet..

I personally know of a recent winner who joined a company simply because his name would bring in investment, and which turned out to be run by a charlatan, not that this mattered a jot to the NP winner because he was going to earn hundreds of thousands, possibly millions in share options. And that's the rub, you have extremely intelligent researchers - this guy's mind in his 70's is razor sharp - who are earning peanuts when compared to people exploiting their discoveries, have an opportunity to make some real money and some of them take it. In general a NP winner scientist will earn ~150-250k in a British university, and that is just because of the kudos this association brings to the university, most have finished the productive cycle of their research careers.
Don't for a second believe that they believe the bullshit they are spouting, they know what they are doing and why they are doing it. It's for money. And frankly, i can't blame them.
As for the NP winner that I know, he spends his time hob nobbing with Saudis, Kuwaiti's and Qatari's trying to take their money for even more bizarre anti-obesty/aging/etc/etc cures - it's where the money is these days.
