Concerning not being able to summon a vehicle, your pets and companions sometimes stand in the way. Place them (with the go here command) outside of the summoning area :) (I know, old game, old news, but may help someone :) )

Brad,
I'm telling you all this now, b/c this won't be the last Far Cry game you play.
When you play Far Cry games, do ALL of the Treasure Hunts and side missions first.
They make your character stronger, harder to kill, and you accumulate most of the gear and guns you need to kick ass more effectively when you play the main story missions.
Walk, ride, or drive from Treasure Hunt to Treasure Hunt somewhat slow, so you can see all the cool sh*t to pick up on the way in your mini-map.
If you happen to come across a Check Point, FND Base, Anti-AirCraft Gun, or ANY other red shaded area in your mini-map, go ahead and kill all the soldiers and loot those areas.......b/c EVERY little thing you loot is important. (NOTHING should be skipped over.)
Keep checking out all those exclamation points as you come across them as well, b/c they give you VALUABLE intel........or the where-abouts of the even MORE valuable supply drops with the orange smoke. (Get those supplies from the supply drops BEFORE the soldiers do, so Libertad ends up with them and Castillo's forces DON'T.)
If you do everything in that sequence, you'll have what you need to do the main story line missions, and you'll be more familiar with Yara better b/c you'll have already been to most places.
Use this common sense strategy, b/c it's the same way we did things when I was in the U.S. Army, and we had to beat our "enemies" in the war games we played as a means to train for future real world battles.
Oh, a couple of more points to consider:
-Get in a high vantage point BEFORE you take down a large group of enemies, and zoom & scan the whole area slowly, so all of the enemies, and important objects show up on your mini-map.......and your enemies will all turn red.
-Don't run forward all the time when battling your enemies, b/c you're running right into the middle of them, and they're ALL firing at you at the same time, from many different angles.
This just makes you get hit by all their bullets simultaneously.
Get behind solid cover to keep their bullets from hitting you, and shoot them one at a time until they're all dead.......and only advance to the closest nearby cover if you HAVE to, to engage more enemies.
You're getting shot WAY TOO MUCH.
