I'm currently struggling to decide what new phone to buy, my current phone is just too old the battery is terrible, but everything is too big! I can't find anything nice that's less than 6.7 inches which I don't really want.

i love compact phone but not finding one . Why they dont make 6 inch phone

I had a 13 mini for about a year, I loved the form factor and everything about it at first, but I quickly learned how terrible it is. After a couple months it started having performance issues and the battery became absolutely awful, it reminded me of the days I had to carry an external battery bank for my iPhone 5 back in high school. Sucks cause I still love the size

my first phone was a samsung young and when it died I went for the a40. i have been loving small phones since the start, it is a pity that there aren't many small phone lovers out there :(

Moral of the story: selling a smaller phone in a culture that doesn't reward "just right" but always chooses "more is more-er" will result in poor sales!

That zenphone 10 is at 5.9 how's that so much different than all the 6.1 and 6.2 phones on the market do those couple cm make that much of a difference to the consumers?
@sebastiancorral7791 Says:
I understand the market is the market, however, I absolutely dislike big phones. I have to upgrade my Pixel 4a in a not so far future, and nothing in the market suits my needs. I don't need it to be a flagship, I just need it to be a good small smartphone under 6 inches. Never thought it was too much to ask, but your video is very insightful. I'm thinking about getting the current iphone SE just for the size of it, before they ruin it LOL.
@danh5637 Says:
I’d buy an iPhone as big as an iPad mini with all the features like Apple Pay etc.

I bought a Toshiba TG01 15 years ago and everyone thought it was silly, now I use a unihertz jellystar because running with a tablet attached to your arm... IS SILLY.
@oreocookie3379 Says:
I would rather buy an iphone mini, but have you seen the price? so, if it was way cheaper I would rather have a smaller phone

I have the a relatively small phone, (less than five inches), and I need to replace it. But realizing I may have a lot of trouble finding a phone that fits in my pocket as easily does make me reconsider getting a new one so quickly

Honestly, mini phones are too expensive. The small price drop for losing an inch of screen makes you feel like you’re getting ripped off. Also, no phone is usable one handed. There are too many gestures, too many small buttons for me to even handle a mini phone optimally without standing in place, taking out both hands, then completing my task. Also phone shopping isn’t fun anymore. I don’t want to need a phone. I buy an iPhone because I need to tie into my techno-illiterate parents phones.
@rbaxter286 Says:
Flagship phones deliver ultimate performance in both PERFORMANCE, ESPECIALLY INPUT and OUTPUT. What don't you understand about phones not being flagship that CAN'T HANDLE INPUT AND CAN'T HANDLE OUTPUT ON THE FLAGSHIP SCALE?! The quality of the connection is pretty much network and/or otherwise unimprovable, the BATTERY in a small form factor isn't made to support the cpu/hardware specs, the THERMAL DESIGN in a small form factor is too difficult. Those are Real Life things I can think of off the top of my head, and I don't design phones for a living, but instead work with other electronics. People can EASILY find a small phone, but all the inapplicable flagship features are not included for a reason. Maybe there's a reason you are not a Project Manager or Director of Development at a PRODUCTIVE corporation? Just click bait.

You will have to pry my s10e from my cold, dead hands. Perfect size, perfectly placed power button with an integrated fingerprint scanner, the headphone jack. I've been eyeing the s23, but I'm honestly still happy with it even after 5 years. Might have to swap out that battery though.

I’m using a iphone SE from 2022 and I am so sad, that was the last SE… the size is perfekt. Its durable, its simple… I just hope that phone never dies…
@alecwalker449 Says:
i adore my unihertz jelly star. its lacking some big things like not great on battery, no 5G, mediocre camera and such but it has decent grunt for being a 3 inch screen. day to day my previous s22 ultra was much faster but doing what i actually do it never slowed me down. now im in a position where work is needing me to use GPS way more and my phone is too small for the mounts and battery life isn't enough so ill need a big one again. but i will mis my tiny for and will definitely keep it as a 2nd/ backup.

New small phones are flip phones and just deal with it guys
@ClaytonDallas-ki4yh Says:
I had the iPhone 12 Mini. A crack dealer stole it while I was asleep and then went to jail two days later with it in his bag. I never saw it again. I now own a Pixel 6a.
@timmy3822 Says:
I’m guilty of this. I had regular iPhones for years, my last upgrade was to a 15 Pro Max. Sure I love the camera, the screen is great for content like YouTube or catching a bit of a Twitch stream on the go. But man, this thing’s fucking huge. And already six months down the line of getting it, I feel like I’m already starting to get annoyed by it. Especially with summer approaching and not having big jacket pockets. I’d go back to a regular sized iPhone I think next time, but honestly after finding my old iPhone 5C in the back of a cupboard I thought “wow this is really cute and I can actually reach the whole screen without contorting my hand weirdly”. If they did another mini iPhone I’d buy one in a heartbeat, especially if they did them in cute bright colours!

Here are my thoughts... There are three things that I pay attention to when trying to decide which new phone to buy. Those three things are: • What is the max amount of watts can the wall charger be? • How much RAM does it have? • How many MHz does the screen have for the refresh rate? • Screen size? IMO, & this is definitely b/c I've become so accustomed to using a phone w/ a high amount of RAM, I will not buy a phone that doesn't have at least 8 GB of RAM. It is that exact reason why I have stuck with the OnePlus brand phones. Currently using 9 Pro & will be purchasing a new one soon.

You can pry my iPhone 13 mini from my cold dead hands
@ekifi Says:
Seems like almost the opposite to me, iPhone base models are among if not the most sold phones worldwide and they've always been on the 6.1" sweetspot, exactly like Galaxy base models. The non-Pro Pixels have also been getting smaller and smaller since the 6 and it seems like the future 9 is going to continue that route. Btw saying we've gone from 5.1 to 5.8 with the S8 is misleading since screens' form factor radically changed with the new bezel less designs therefore effective area remained pretty much unchanged while the phones themseleves probably became more ergonomical with their narrower shapes. Super small and clearly niche phones like the iPhone mini series may not be a thing anymore but Zenfone sized stuff has never really stopped being aroud.
@norman1907 Says:
I'd buy a smaller phone just for the durability.

Here I am just using the smallest possible smartphones even with my XL hands and using pretty much that thing. But for me the real confort is on the small ones.. That's why I'm with my S23, coming from an Iphone 13Mini, S21, S10... All the smallest but nice I could find. Even from Xperia Z1 Compact times!!
@raga4ka Says:
Xiaomi 14 is a very good normal sized phone and I hear that Google will lower the size of their upcoming Pixel 9 line-up. Apple 15 and 15 Pro are normal size as well. Phones sized 6-6.4 inch usually are good for 1 hand use, but it's a small niche market.

I have a Zenfone 8, and though I love the size, it's easily the worst phone I've ever owned. The proximity sensor is shit. From what I've heard, they haven't fixed that in the 9 or the 10. So fine. Let it die.
@loupide Says:
After my iPhone 5 died in 2017, I got a 2016 SE for under 300 brand new. Kept it until I got a 7 at work, fell in love with bigger displays, bought an XR in 2019 just to replace it with a 13 mini in 2023. I adore this small form factor, but I also adore titanium, LiDAR sensors, telephoto lenses and 120Hz displays so I might get myself a 16 pro or pro max this year. RIP small screens. Good thing though, the battery might last just a bit longer.
@priyv8710 Says:
u know what ..this is one of the reason I am not willing to part with my Asus zenfone 5z...its small..its still performs pretty well though I purschased in 2018...it may not be up to date with latest technology ..which I really dont care as long as its fits into my palm and is really light weight...I hope it lasts long...hehe
@Vlican Says:
maybe if Asus sold the phone in more places and priced it accordingly...
@germantapia9349 Says:
Screens aren't getting bigger. They're larger, but not bigger. A 16:9 has more area than a 21:9. A 16:9 6.5 inches screen has an area of 18.05 in² while a 21:9 has an area of 15.3 in².
@LuchinoBruttomesso Says:
I will problably keep my Iphone SE 2022 until it breaks.i love this phone for its small display and still having some form of a home button (problably the last one to have it since the upcoming SE won’t have one).
