Absolutely solid documentary. The dedication for hos character spawn goes so deep.
@michaelkaldani5141 Says:
so what about people who use a lot of photoshop? 8GB should be ok?
@howood1310 Says:
i'm just buying one for the basic stuff. BUT i'm not going to save a few dollars for a old chassis without magsafe m1 or a m2 base spec with a much slower ssd.
@navixaxa5023 Says:
Glad to see Max Tech getting the recognition it deserves. Floored that nobody is talking about it. Ever since mid-2020, their coverage of Apple [especially Apple silicone] has been nothing short of fantastic. Vadim shaving off his goatee was ridiculous af tho lol. I too have an M1 Pro 14' MBP. Absolutely love it [tho if my XPS 13 Plus could deliver the insane Battery life performance as the M-Series Chips, I'd love it more than my MacBook lol]. The RAM and SSD pricing is just insane, and a massive Rip-Off. That's what it is.
@Anthony-kp7sf Says:
*apple releases Logic Pro x AI update* "jUst gEt aN m1" kinda get wrecked, dude. you were wrong about m chips to begin with too lol.

I would instantly buy the air if it got the same screen as the pro 14 and 16

Great video as always Marques. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

lower yield so they sell the lower volume models first then as yield improves they sell the cheaper higher selling lineups

This is my first time watching you and this was an excellent review. So much so that I’m shocked. Good job.
@MrDragon9000 Says:
It would be better if they illuminated the Apple logo. This one reason would make people buy it more not the rest of stuff they are doing
@Zer0ducksgiven Says:
I am still using my 2020 MacBook Air with M1 and quite frankly Apple is giving me little to no reason to ever upgrade, almost 4 years in and I'm still able to do everything I want to on this lightning fast laptop with legendary battery life, with an amazing keyboard and fanless operation, the fact you can now get this machine for as little as $650 is unbelievable. It's so much more computer than 90% of people need. That being said, I wish these base models started with 16GB's of ram, even though its never really been a serious issue for me, I have noticed under big workloads with a lot open, you may start to notice a slight slowdown. But even 4 years later I don't regret not having spent $200 for 8GB more, because that is actual insanity.

👁👄👁 Me, on my 2015 4GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage MacBook Air watching him saying that 8GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage in 2024 is possible only sometimes...
@opinionatedopiner Says:
Apple still monetizing incredibly cheap storage should enrage Apple users. Not having an microSD expansion port built in is inexcusable. You're paying a high price for a device that doesn't have the one thing that would make the high price worth it. I loathe the insane greediness of the tech executive.
@aymaneeljahrani2280 Says:
Get a used M1 Max rather than a base model m2 or m3 and save money !
@MeTheDroidor Says:
I'm really tired of the notch on MacBooks. I refuse to buy one until they eliminate this pointless aberration. I don't know what bothers me more, the notch or the fact that iPhones still have glass backs. Anyway...
@sidekickht Says:
If your using a mac book for gaming i feel bad for you bro

Is the M3 Air good enough for amateur video and photo editing?
@Lou-np3ff Says:
They have the new M4 so what now😅
@plastisho Says:
Everybody speaks about the basic MacBook Air , why nobody does saying a word about properly specked out laptop, for example 24 RAM and 1TB SSD , and always benchmarks(synthetic) , can we see a real life example like Lightroom or Premiere or FinalCut...
@kaiser4ya Says:
Nice one. Thanks for suggesting and analyzing the prices
@aksharagoswami191 Says:
watching this on my MacBook Air m 3😌
@JohnDiew Says:
Everyone arguing about the pricing, then they conveniently overlook how many users were really happy with their M1 MBA with 8GB+256GB configuration. mind you that machine is about 4 years old now.
@aettic Says:
The company I work for gives developers MacBooks (which isn't terribly uncommon, but it's not the norm). For the longest time we all had souped up MacBook Pros, but I think what they discovered is that we don't actually need all the extra power, RAM, or storage, so in recent hardware refreshes we've been getting MacBook Airs (15", thank god), and so far it's been *more than enough* to do everything my team does on a daily basis. But we aren't rendering or doing media work, we're just coding and handling virtualization, and besides that a lot of what we do is in cloud computing anyway. I'm glad they didn't give me the lowest-end bare bones Air, this one has a couple upgrades, but it's definitely not a shiny new Pro. However, it blows my previous laptop out of the water (a 2019 Pro 16" with an Intel i9) even though it has half the RAM and storage.
@fabiandagr8 Says:
Is this more powerfull than my macbook pro 2013 retina display
@loddy3406 Says:
Touchscreen? Better than zenbook oled?
@weeklyfascination Says:
Heck, I use FCP on a MacBook Air M1 with 16GB of RAM to edit videos, and I do just fine. I guess if I were editing Hollywood level movies, I'd need more horsepower, but I'm perfectly happy.
@alexanderekeberg4343 Says:
should i upgrade from macbook pro 2020 (intel core i5 8th gen quad-core 1.4ghz) to macbook air m3 15 inch for coding?
@LordBagdanoff Says:
Anyone know how to remove colouration from the palm rest? Having it on the space black MBP…
@darrenr3503 Says:
In my opinion, If you buy a MacBook Air M3 with 8gb of ram, and don't need the extra ram, you don't need the newer chip either. Save yourself some money and get a refurbished m1 air and save yourself 500 bucks. The M3 will only be an improvement if it has enough ram to keep the system happy.
@PWingert1966 Says:
Here is the problem with the base spec going forward: Apple will try doing its implementation of LLM AI on the system and not in the cloud. That is going to put a strain on base-model laptops. It's going to require more storage and more RAM to do it locally and this is where base-model laptops fall down. I am already looking at 32 GB and 512 GB for storage, But I am likely to increase storage to 1Tb just because of the AI need for space to store language model components. Right now we do not know how much of an impact AI will have on system requirements.

I don’t do coding or video editing but do a TON of multitasking in apps like Slack, ClickUp, Figma, 40 Chrome tabs etc. is the Air feasible or does this type of multitasking NEED a Pro?
@ymaizosz Says:
This video is just 1 month old and yet, it is already outdated as the new iPad Pro released 2 days ago have the M4 Processor..
@NylonStrings83 Says:
i have m1 laptop and m1 imac i really dont see any sense buying the m2 or m3 , i might buy the m6 or m 7 when it comes out
@shiv_blinkings Says:
Hey i am curious to know that is macbook ok for coding and programming and if it is should i get the base variant or something above the base variant?
@shuvo089 Says:

MB Air just got refreshed with obsolete M3 processor, now that M4 iPads have been released. 😢
@bez787 Says:
Marques reviews really are the best.
@smittyvanjagermanjenson182 Says:
Okay im broke, whatever, lol. i saw the 8gb M1 macbook air at best buy and was wondering how relevant it would stay? Im trying to do light edits on the fly. Like pack it for hiking or shooting locations. I dont care about gaming with it, i have a full pc at home for that. I dont really even want a gaming laptop due to bulk. Would it be worthwhile? Or should i spend for an M2 macbook air?
@kurotesuta Says:
Great video! This helped me to take a decision what to get
@jianwei2009 Says:
I’m a bit doubtful about Apple’s strategy… apparently they are one of the first consumer companies, arguably even today, to have hardware products integrated very well with cloud services. With all the cloud storage I feel the need for a bigger drive is diminishing, especially for those who “buy laptop at walmart” 😂
