The only other person I know who discusses immigration's real effect on wages is MIT Labor Economist David Autor when he was on the Freakonomics Podcast, which you can find online (and get a transcript of.) I backed this up years ago on archive/wayback machine, and suggest reading more of that there. This interview is quite old, mind you, but it still holds up.

From my understanding, people like Tom should instead feel grateful that they possess the brain chemistry required to achieve success in a capitalistic economy via working long hours.
