a guru can make an idol and worship her and show others the path, but a guru can never birth devi, she is the reason sadhguru entered the womb of his own mother. To say he birthed devi, is something like saying he gave birth to his own mother, which is a wrong statement completely. A guru who thinks he created gods, is a guru to stay away from.

In the very first canto of the Devi Bhagavata Purāṇa, Sage Vyāsa describes how before anything existed there was only the Supreme Goddess (Ādi-Parāśakti)—formless, self-luminous, eternal.
Before creation, I alone existed.
There was neither Brahmā, nor Viṣṇu, nor Śiva.”
From Her own will (Icchā Śakti) She brought forth:
• Brahmā – the creative principle (Rajas)
• Viṣṇu – the sustaining principle (Sattva)
• Śiva – the dissolving principle (Tamas)
So, in the Purāṇa, Devi is the Source and the three gods are Her emanations.
She is the ocean; they are its waves.
