I don't believe FydeOS is actually free, I recall it just being a trial and they don't indicate that anywhere. Beware. EDIT: Nevermind, this seems to actually just be a stock build of Chromium OS that is indeed free.

I was hoping if you could be of assistance and help me with a problem of this installation. every time i flash chromium to a sd card or a usb drive for the raspberry pi the system takes all the storage space and and leaves no room for personal files. I know the os takes 6.66GB of storage and not 125GB of the 128GB usb drive. please help.

What would be awesome is a video done of how to install this OS on a Banana PI BPI-M5 (eMMC vs SD card), because one can actually buy those (AliExpress). The R-PI's are impossible to find, and when you do they're way overpriced. The first one I was looking into buying years ago was $35 USD: Now they're over $200 at Amazon.
@Roblox_SBPepperminion Says:
So what's the difference between Chromium and Chrome, as both the browser and the OS? In general.

I'll confess that when you clicked on the Pi then cut to black screen, the electrical guru in me thought you blew a breaker... Neat port! Might have to try it on my Pi once I get one.

4:18 it has apparently also been designed by members of the 'very small heads' society.
@michalroesler Says:
Yes.
@APUGuru Says:
It’s genuinely impressive how well this performs. Even raspberrypi OS doesn’t play YouTube videos this well most of the time. We might be one pi generation away from having it be viable desktop replacement for day to day use. I’m guessing it’s not possible to overclock the pi 4 while using chromiumOS?
@philou1516 Says:
Thank you for this video! I can't install any app from Play Store but perhaps it is normal?

I was curious about something ever since this video was uploaded but could this port of Chromium OS run Android apps on a Raspberry Pi? It would be quite a feat if the capability was present with this specific port of Chromium OS.
@mitchellquinn Says:
Why would you poison a beautiful Raspberry Pi like this?!?
@fattomandeibu Says:
Not something that would be much use to me, but my dad and several other people I know would certainly find this very useful. Much cheaper than a new PC, so I think when the time comes my old dad needs a new computer, I may make this the recommendation as it will do everything he needs in a way that would be familiar to him and save him in excess of £100. Excellent stuff.

Just one word!! Brialliant!
@calvinwalker4654 Says:
I tried this but it seems a bit buggy but it has very good potential. Perhaps when the next model comes out it will work better with Chromium OS. That would make the Raspberry Pi a real desktop PC replacement YouTube videos play at 1080P but if you move the mouse or even turn up or down the volume it’s too much for the CPU and starts dropping frames. That’s not too big of a deal though. One thing I did notice was it’s not powerful enough to play YouTube live content. I think there’s just too much going on on the page and it can’t load it. I have a feeling if I spent some time I would find more webpages that are just too much for it. I’m definitely going to keep it loaded with Chromium OS and see what he does for a while
