Please note that the flash storage on this device is 8MB, not 8GB as I said for some reason in the video. My bad. I My error-trapping gets worse and worse as I age. :(

I'm a bit of a computing noob, but I wonder if this can run something like direwolf to use as an aprs digipeater for ham radio. If so, I will definitely snatch one up. Might have to even if it can't. Seems like an awesome tech toy for a person like me to learn on. I had an old lg smart phone that had an ir blaster back in the day that was sweet! I'd love to have universal remote capabilities again.

I feel this guy bought this technology back with him from the future in the 70s

I found your channel through a Short video you did on this that YouTube dropped in my feed. I need a Universal remote and hate the loss of critical functions such as _Menu_ that my past retail-purchase universal remotes have often lacked. _Sold!_ Will I do anything else with it, ever? Maybe, maybe not. Mentions of a weather station module that works with this make me think, yes.

Those stickers for the keyboard look like they'll wear out real quick?

The Cardputer is awesome, as are the rest of the M5Stack catalog of products, they make some seriously amazing stuff...as soon as it comes back into stock I am going to be attempting to build out their M5Stamp Fly which is a quadcopter drone based off of their M5Stamp S3.just like the Cardputer is Also considering their M5Stack Dial which is an ESP32 based smart rotary knob/dial with a 1.3" touch screen, for use in a custom mechanical keyboard project. Thanks for another awesome video, Chris! Glad to see that STANLEY THE KNIFE is still kicking about!
@NaeMuckle Says:
Looks amazing but pihut refuse to ship anything with a battery to Scotland. The usual pathetic xenophobic excuses from them.
@ladedk Says:
It's great for a small cyberdeck keyboard, I'm making one for SDR radio use. I'm also interested in some of the stand alone M5 rf wifi/BLE.....explorers...... But really whish I could add a larger screen without going through alot of extra configuration.

☠ We all know what the cardputer is for given many of its officials devices. ☠
@richie4540 Says:
Can it run meshtastic.
@yakovdavidovich7943 Says:
Why did you choose to call it "card pooter" instead of making it rhyme with "computer"? Maybe it's not a normal thing in the UK, but it either means "card farter" or "card defecator" when you say it that way where I'm from.
@tozpeak Says:
Someone should add tinyC for this. :D

I’ve excitedly bought an M5Stack Cardcomputer but I can’t find any basic instructions, so, I can’t even start using the built-in programs. Please can you produce an “idiots guide” to what buttons to press? Thanks Ian
@SockyNoob Says:
Only $30 for one of these? I'd buy one just out of curiosity. Plus I love tiny handheld devices like this.
@Prophes0r Says:
Kard-Pyew-Tur Unless this is a "poo" joke that I'm not getting?
@armisis Says:
Been playing with mine wonder if this will do lora and meshtastic.
@itenthusiast5988 Says:
Never knew these things existed before until my notification brought me here. Don't know what I can do with this but love to have one. Thank you very much enjoyed the whole video right from the beginning 🎉
@doktabob328 Says:
It would make an excellent pocket music device. MIDI over Bluetooth, even a synth app with audio over Bluetooth. The Grove connector opens up possibilities with I2C port expanders - maybe a Universal Eurorack module ?

I love this little device dearly, but I wish I could toggle the beeping noises when I use the keyboard sometimes.
@ShookD Says:
What is this device for?
@sdimartino Says:

@armisis Says:
Ordered one of these and a m5stack core2 I want to see if they can do meshtastic.. Maybe other things... Pihut gets more of my money. 😂

Little thing reeks of science fiction. I love the concept!

I did a search on Amazon (U.S.) for "M5Stack Card Puter"...it's not there, but if you scroll down you'll see something....funny. This video was awesome (as usual). Even though it's 17 minutes long, it's so engaging it seemed more like 5 minutes. Great job!
@MrBratkenSolov Says:
well, i'd add line input for sound, midi output to control real hardware, ported some tracker and made Cardputer a music tracker. Becuase why not?
@kareno8634 Says:
Hi, *Thanks!* now i know i'm Way behind^ in 'tech world'. One, not only has Knowledge at Fingertips, also carries World ConTroll in their Pocket. _^ except wearable gagits_
@wisteela Says:
Fantastic. It would be great to get a version of BASIC running on it.
@VaultHunterRyRy Says:
Kari's post on Twitter had me intrigued. Glad she linked your account so I could easily find your YouTube channel and watch this video. I don't know if I'll ever pick one of these up but I'm still glad I watched this as I found it informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work, Chris. (Edit) After following the link in the description to the M5 website I was pleasantly surprised to see the cardputer is only $30 + shipping. At that price I'm quite tempted to pick one up and have some fun tinkering with it. Nice to know there are still companies out there trying to give people quality items at an affordable price. Good job, M5!
@padraigwastaken Says:
Is the IR blaster also capable of receiving data? Looking for something somewhat usable that could backup a variety of remotes in a nice form factor now that the Harmony remotes are discontinued; in some respects this would be much better than them if I could save the data to an SD card as well.
@Myrulv Says:
Just using it as an USB keyboard is good enough excuse to get one. But I miss F-keys?
@SB-qm5wg Says:
I've been fascinated with ESP32 lately. This video dropped at a perfect time.
@rbus Says:
Picked up one of these a while back along with a 64-voice midi synthesizer module that attaches via cable to the Grove port.
@arlenestanton9955 Says:
I don’t get the Lego interface functionality. Please explain this.
@durbledurb3992 Says:
I can see this will be used in crime a lot more than TV control or hobby experiments.
@bzert281 Says:
3.3" x 2.1" x 0.8"? -So it will fit in an Altoids tin?
@raz0229 Says:
Cheers, Chris! Looks like I've found just what I needed. I'll definitely use it to whip up a handheld AI chatbot (something like my own Rabbit R1) to help out with daily tasks.
