I’m in that situation right now , I’ve been coding for a little under a year. It’s tough right now but this video reminds me to keep going and that things are going to change for the better and better quality of life.

My favorite black coder content creator. Keeps it real. Talks about mental health. Unapologetically himself.
@zenbrandon Says:
Dude, I've been following your journey since 2019 and I'm so happy to see all your progress and work pay off! I actually went back to school for my CS degree, and your journey inspired me to do that! Can't wait to see what the future brings for you, amigo.
@BadWeatherfreak Says:
What would you recommend to start learning to code?

Man I found your channel in the middle of looking for a new career and you’ve inspired and kept me motivated. I’m trying to take the self taught route because I have patience financially due to my trucking business but I second guess it sometimes because I’m afraid I’ll do all this work learning and never get a job because I don’t have a degree. But I want yo thank you because your videos always pop up in time to reinforce my motivation
@MoeGleezzy Says:
I'll be 38 tomorrow and this has been one of the best years of my life since busting into tech doing IT support. I finally had enough money to travel to my fam for thanksgiving and have another trip planned for Dec. I started coding in Sept this year and haven't looked back since. For the people who are saying its to late, its never to late keep pushing, keep striving to become better. Great video!
@cesarsales22 Says:
I can relate to you my man... I've been working as a software developer for 1 year and 3 months and it changed my life too... It's been quite a ride and I'm loving every bump of it
@marcoadev Says:
This is what I needed to hear from anybody. I feel lost recently. I really don't feel motivated to finish my "audiovisual communication career" and I've been struggling from this because I feel I'm betraying my parents, specially my mom. I'm now studying to apply a coding bootcamp and I feel like I found my element. The way you explain the experience you have about coding and life in general makes me feel motivated and happy. Sorry if my english is bad, but I really wanted to thank you. Thank you for your content and for your pure soul. 🙏🏾
@muhammedbojang5495 Says:
dang man, I was very angry with you. you motivated me a lot and all of a sudden you stopped uploading videos. I can always relate to you cuz you are funny and seeing fellow black brothers like you coding keeps me learning more every day... but am glad you are back
@LA_VIVLIA Says:
Excellent video, I like your take on it. I've been learning JavaScript for about 10 months now. I am learning there are all sorts of developers and so far I managed to figure out what I don't like but I am not clear on what I do like. I know without a doubt I don't like web design using figma. I enjoy coding yet at the same time I do like css for basic designs and I am even starting to learn some animation now. From your experience do you know of positions which require from you the basics of css like flexbox and basic things like position, hover, very basic. With knowledge of React but with only with knowledge of 3 hooks only? UseState, useEffect and useRef .Thanks man

been watching your videos since 2018, keep punching buddy... something else, have you tried making coding tutorials? some people say teaching is the shortest path to learning
@linnjohnsen4073 Says:
Do I need to be smart to learn to code?😅
@linnjohnsen4073 Says:
Know the feeling😢 I’m having such a hard time and cry a lot out of frustration because its hard learning. Thank you for this video, it comforts me. Thank you❤
@kvncnls Says:
Dude you can do so much with one year. I learned frontend development and UI/UX design simultaneously over the course of 7 months when I got laid off back in 2020— They're life-changing skills and give you so much confidence in life in general. There are only a few skills out there that scale infinitely and allow you to make shit out of thin air: sales, coding, design, copywriting, marketing and content creation. You can trade way less of your time for $$$ in these areas. IMO, $$$ = freedom. You stress less about day-to-day stuff and opens you up to more opportunities BECAUSE there's less shit to stress about. Today I'm the Lead UX Designer at a large e-commerce company based in California and freelance in the Web3/NFT space as a UI/UX designer and frontend developer. IMO, you HAVE to be a self-starter if you're trying to get into tech (especially if you're self-taught). Being passionate about tech makes it easier to be a self-starter. 👌 Passionate people tend to be self-starters so they learn, build, explore, make mistakes and fix things all on their own— regardless of fear/uncertainty/doubt.

Bro. I used to enjoy watching your videos back in the covid-time while you were talking about not having job stuff and now seeing you like this make my day. you have come a long way. thanks for the post.
@basheebrah3551 Says:
I was wondering, did you need a degree to get into software engineering? Does having one make it easier?
@AnnorCode Says:
AYEEE i'm hapy you're back man!
@jcnot9712 Says:
I'm a senior mechanical engineering student who's only ever worked clerk jobs before. I can relate to that previous self-destructive mindset you spoke of. It's pretty common in retail and service industry to operate that way, because you are taught that you exist to work and not work to exist. I'm hoping to find a decent company like you have while I pursue my PE license. Congrats and best of luck, man.
@jowurani Says:
Thank you so much for this video it’s a God sent because needed that boost of motivation of my journey learning to code. Especially cool seeing this a black young male myself same age range learning to code. Love and support from the UK just subscribed to your channel cos of this video. To more success bro
@mitchelloliver18 Says:
Hey man, I want to say thank you for your videos. I was a warehouse worker and learned how to code. I invested 2 years of my life learning, and it paid off. I'm a software engineer at a big tech company and can support my family; I don't worry about if I can put food on the table. What I worry about now is growing. Thank you for your videos it really got me through a lot. For any black people watching this channel, keep going, and don't be afraid to ask for help to get where you want. You can even ask me lol
@humble_mik Says:
I've been doing tutorials, but not feeling like I'm consistently growing. Javascript has been quite the challenge.
@josephthecreator Says:
I'm genuinely happy for you and glad you're sharing your journey. Breaking into this industry required a TON of sacrifice...sweat equity, time, caused doubt, even at times isolation. But in the end, hard work is still UNDEFEATED.
@polikesa Says:
Cybersecurity field is also another part of tech where you even do more less and more money than coding, learn cybersecurity next its even easir if you already know software engineering 😉😉
@Hamza.Abdul_Rahman Says:
It’s been a journey man!! Can’t even explain how happy I am to see how far you’ve come, and how excited I am to see how far you’ll keep going. Big ups man, I still remember the old vlogs and pranks back in the day. Great work bro!!!!!!
