"Actually the xyv came up with the atom before." Never said they were first, Its an example to show how they were using science as a viewpoint of their philosophy.

10:08 weren't Epicureanism and Stoicism rival schools of thought? One focuses on moderated hedonism whereas the other is interested in virtue and integrity?

Read the kybalion it goes into all of the psychics and science of the universe. It's based on Hermes tresmegis a person who lived thousands of years ago in Egypt. He was so brilliant they deified him into the God Hermes. Read the kybalion and you can see that a book written over a hundred years ago about someone who lived thousands of years ago and they knew many things that we know today.

A lot of logic with thought-compartmentalization (in a good way) along with delayed gratification. What was wild to me was seed oils, which have nothing to with this video particularly. There's nothing inherently wrong with money or fame either. You can always get too much shelter and food. I feel like a grandma typing this. 🥸

This guy has truly changed my life. He sparked my interest in self improvement, and he brought the idea of stoicism to my attention 2-3 years ago when I was 16 or 17. I was a really feminine as a kid, didn’t like to do work, just wanted to indulge in content consumption, nicotine, weed, etc. I hated myself. I believed that I would never find love. However over the past 2-3 years of working out, gaining control over my mind instead of being controlled by it, learning about and implementing stoicism, working instead of consuming content, so on and so on, I have managed to get in great shape, become a masculine young man who aspires to be a real stoic, got a gf, set a goal to become an engineer, and most importantly I have stopped obsessing over my own self hatred and began to actually like who I am.

Honestly, I like that he explained that there can't be splitting of something and then it dissolves into nothing. I get it now about this philosophy in some portions

The Egyptian deity Thoth or Tehuti was considered the father of Philosophy, Writing, Law, Science, Mathematics, Magic etc. The Greek version of Tehuti is referred to as Hermes. The gods are archetypes of the collective unconscious. Dan Winter proves that science and magic are two ways of describing the same thing. This is why Chinese Medicine deals with the spirit, and it has for thousands of years, as apposed to the West. Everything is unified and this unified field is what the Greeks referred to as the Aether (Known as Qi to the Chinese)

I find the idea of Death being the big Nothing somewhat comforting. It maybe if there is something after, it's so different our consciousness can't rightly be called a continuation of what he have now. Though I believe there is one God, I don't like the Christian obsession with rewards in heaven as payment for being a miserable person in life right now. It becomes an excuse to obsess over the future, self-censor yourself into oblivion, and change nothing. I much prefer to think of death as a hard cutoff. Til then, I'll proceed as if this is my one shot to do what's important; and after, whatever remains of me will fuck off and not worry about what-ifs or regrets because what's happened's happened.
