So what exactly is a salute that just bursts and makes a boom and no "firework" so to speak
@softpaw6234 Says:
The drone shot reminds me of scenes like the battlefield scene in Howl's Moving Castle or some of the more intense space battles in the classic Lego Star Wars games
@johnsykes9623 Says:
Very exclent. Have watched other firework videos, the one for the largest in Japan,it was very good too. Loved yours cos I thought it went deeper into the theory and practice. The drone shots were a super bonus. Thanks very much. (Didn't mention it at the time but also enjoyed your video on the art of katana making)
@goldenbuttplug3205 Says:
It wouldn’t be a real firework store if it’s not a shack on the side of a desolate highway in the middle of alabama
@yoface2537 Says:
The structure of the stars is kind of the inverse of the compression style atomic bomb

@user-kb6mj7zq8t Says:
It blows my mind. Who and how anyone would figure out the whole bird dropping and bat dropping thing? Lol. Like, how would that even come to be?
@TheKamperfoelie Says:
You get green from copper instead of blue when there is incomplete combustion of either that gas burner or a just lit copper test stick, which indeed isn’t hot enough to cause complete combustion. The incomplete combustion ‘contaminates the flame area that turns yellow because of it. Just like a flame of a candle or match or fire. Yellow from this and blue from the copper combines to us viewers as green.
@10mmfinder556 Says:
I like how they say the burst charge is black powder, but it is in fact flash powder. Potassium nitrate is way different than potassium perchlorate.
@pouyahossienkh6852 Says:
isn't the gas released by the gunpowder carcinogenic?

@AdamBomb1 Says:
I’m so glad Veritasium saved me the trouble of looking up the explosion of the largest firework
@tomo1168 Says:
Loud and fun for sure :D Just that they destroy the air quality in the cities with metalfumes and pm 2-10 particles, you get the air quality for a day like in India during the crop-stalk-burning season.
@eamonia Says:
Since airborne fireworks and camera technology have existed, anyone who's been aware of both technologies has been waiting for that shot. Sure, we've seen helicopter shots from half a mile away but that drone footage was absolutely incredible.
@dominiccaruso7507 Says:
At 10:49 you can see the smoke make a ring as it rises

last year some guy got hit by a small burning piece of debris from pretty far away, he was fine though
@falconposey2185 Says:
Man and I thought it was the oxidization color that determined the firework color
@treeguyable Says:
I am willing to bet, a " fireworks tecnician/ designer", makes a bit more then the slave laborer in the fireworks factory, in China.
@treeguyable Says:
A lot of science, tech, and skill, in making something so volatile, and powerful, into a controlled, awesome display. Usually done by underpaid chinese peasents, whom probably know more than we ever will , about proper firework" programming".
@TheCommandSphere Says:
My only question is: who picked up bird poop, a yellow rock, and some honey, mixed them together, and decided to burn it?
