This is so much better than the previous ad! THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO THE COMMENTS!
I didn't feel cheated, this was pretty cool.

Oh wait till you hear how the Chicago is still like. I'm like 99% sure there's no inductors under the road for the vast majority of street lights within the city. But whenever I've been to just about any suburb around chicago, I've noticed the timing changes which is a clear indicator that there's inductors. It's really easy to tell at night time when there's not much car traffic. Why Chicago doesn't have inductors makes me wonder if it's because the city is broke, or that's by Design and it works better for some reason.

Yet another shill episode. SO diappointing when compared to the "old" Veritasium.
@jordanwhitecar1982 Says:
Video error: the first camera shown is of a red light ticketing camera, the traffic control cameras are more like the second one. At least here in Sacramento, they're even more different so as to not be confused with city surveillance cameras/flock cams.

Producer is Spectacular ❤❤
@geordee Says:
Infomercial is not really content. This does not include paid promotion. This is promotion, especially in short form.
@tentiapoe Says:
nice ad, will buy now
@High-Tech-Geek Says:
So why do I sit at red lights constantly at empty intersections? This should have been solved 75 years ago.
@doktordrift948 Says:
*"How do cities control traffic?"*
2026: _A.I. cameras and systems combined with really dumb humans that mis-use the data gathered_
sorry
@stefanodadamo6809 Says:
Mine doesn't control it - it's controlled by it. 🇮🇹🤷🏻♂️

Reminds me of Count Duckula "Astro Duck" (1990; s3e2). In it, Count Duckula's is playing a shoot-'em-up game on his new desktop computer that became "smart" from an eldritch lightning strike, and it tells him, "We're going to play 'Traffic Jam'", and the computer sets all traffic lights to red in a real city; the A.I. thinks it's fun and Count Duckula just gets angry at such a boring "game". heehee :)
@GhostVenom5837 Says:
Great video for an add for a great product. Best sponsor I've seen ye6
@McPeppr Says:
I hate these induction loops when riding my motorbike
@mmereb Says:
So... The cameras everywhere are for my own benefit?
@arshia.sasson Says:
Did the gas lamp really explode, or did the cop shoot it so he wouldnt have to flip it back and forth all day? Also, police are using these traffic cams for investigations without oversight or a warrant
@pickuptowntravel Says:
Cameras are clearly not working either. 😂
@marco.trevisan Says:
Do those traffick lights detect cyclists? Because there was one of those in Dublin, and as a cyclist I found very annoying that it never became green for me.
@marco.trevisan Says:
Knowing beforehand there is a sponsor changes many things! Much better.
@slimesoliloquy Says:
yeah that's just less good PPS
@stevejeffryes5086 Says:
So, this was not an educational video; It was an ad from the outset. Very low class!
@sidx369 Says:
Not "surprisingly similar"
@3548374 Says:
Pardon me, but not all modern chargers do this?
@AgentM124 Says:
Completely disregarding the AD
I really wish more places in Europe use this traffic lights. I am still waiting for useless red lights in many cases.
Netherlands is so nice comparatively they use them almost everywhere!
@gaweyn Says:
shorts have ads now? :/
@djlafo Says:
Really appreciate the AD disclaimer on the title. Still like the video, but feels less manipulative.
@MisterItchy Says:
Hey! You said AD ... Thanks.
@RAWDEAL064 Says:
This was so much better. Thank you
@ev0wizard Says:
I knew it was an AD but i was still excited to watch it because Anker has the best and reliable products !
@VanadiumVoxel Says:
Even though it's an AD, it's still pretty interesting. I've anyways lowkey been considering an Anker charger, might get one 😁
@BuiNhatAnh-e4j Says:
Cool vid. Always love learning random tech stuff like this~
@Arsopu Says:
And if you wedge a pedestrian button down the whole system fails and goes into a fixed loop. 😂
@hankseda Says:
Now, this is a great "ad" 👍👏
@confusedasian Says:
I feel like all of you are making bid deal out of these ads. I mean atleast they are creative. If you hate the product just don't buy it.
@toja4309 Says:
Not watching that crap. Your channel died and you know the reason.
@scottdrobina5278 Says:
creative and cool content :) let's appreciate it's not ai
@niyaziateş Says:
lights must be seen always red until 40-45 mt reach to lights. so avoid drivers getting fast end of green . more than 45 m far away from lights see only red. close to lights they see normal squence color of lights red or green
@thtkk Says:
Thanks for correcting your previous mistake about the bait ad video. I appreciate the straightforward AD title
@katerinawittig1058 Says:
If Veritasium goes out of his way to talk about traffic lights just to run an ad, it must be good.
