Raising my boys I had two rules.
1. Respect each other’s personal space and property.
2. Do whatever you want as long as it doesn’t harm anyone or anything and doesn’t get us both in trouble. My kids are grown and are good boys.

We have been conditioned to behave this way in the hierarchy that was set up. You CANNOT be your child’s ‘bestest BUD’. You child needs guidance and discipline! Best friends cannot be a guide and teach boundaries & respect for others! Or keep them safe! My grandchild, now a high school graduate, was kicked off a. Varsity ball team because of lack of respect for the coach, & has lost 3 jobs since June. Her younger sister was badly burned because the parent didn’t stop her from touching a fire. None have respect for either parent! (Or anyone else!). Be a PARENT! They only have 2 of those! Thee schoolyard is full of friends!

As a young adult now with a messed up relationship with her parents, especially her mother. I verify that that is exactly what my mother feels like. She is extremely strict. No friends, no going out of the house, no failures, no bad grades, no doing feminine things(as a female myself). I really hate her to the core. So now I just don't talk to her, I don't seek her validation or permission. She's a messed up person so I don't need to ask her anything. She is big on narcissist

Just yesterday, I watched on the playground how a mother (or grandmother) showed her baby, who was rolling a scooter, holding it with difficulty, how to ride it, hoisting herself onto this miniature device with her whole heavy body... 🙃
Such an experience did not seem to the baby attractive and she generally lost all interest in the scooter, turned 180 degrees and went for new experiences on her own. 😊

Stay off your phones . Parents could give their toddlers pots and spoons to play with instead of electronics. A ball or cards and crafts. Interact with your children and friends
