If you raise a human being, he or she will be just like a flock. Raising means you already fixed what they should become. I read comments and they missed the point, he is trying to say that parent mostly project on their children what and how they should become and that's a fundamental mistake. Projecting yourself unknowingly. Thinking what's right or wrong, out of fear, comparing to sth else. Actually people who ask how should i raise a chiled when already have one, means they themselves didn't do the homework and innerengineer themselves yet. Otherwise won't ask that, you would always look if u provided all that's needed..beside the survival basics

He’s saying there’s no one answer because you are going to see this child for 18 years in all types of circumstances
You must be wise enough to learn how to act appropriately in different circumstances because this applies to cultivating the good in your children.
For example, you don’t raise them by indoctrinating them with your own ideas
Just as when you see a plant drying up, you must know the right time to water the plant and the best realistically possible place to plant it, when it requires fertiliser you must give it the right kind
Similarly, when your child falls and bruises their knee, you must show them that this is the reality and how to better pay attention to your surroundings, and how to treat the wound in the best way
When they show their talent, you don’t indoctrinate them with your other ideas about what they should be, but to give them the best opportunities for their talents to blossom
When they are upset and crying, you must be a support for them and teach them how they can support themselves and others in these situations

I Don't know why she asked that question, I really feel sad for her children because after being a mother she is asking sadhguru for advise to rise her children, if she doesn't know how to grow a child why did she become a mother. Parenting is not an art to study but a responsibility which each woman and men should be knowing, if you don't know how to raise a child you shouldn't be a wife or a mother. My mother was 22 when she got married nobody was there to teach her or tell her how to raise a child. Nowadays every thing is getting instead so I think they just want instead parenting. I don't know why people are always bitter when he doesn't answer questions in one word , for me personally it's always very interesting cause till now I've only met people who give you instructions but he kind of guides you to the answer and figuring out a lot stuff he says is very nice and comforting but I guess if you're looking for instructions than he isn't the one you should be listening to.
