Not gonna lie I Kindda like the wrapping makes it look more finished but guess that's a personal taste
@WillLiam123 Says:
I'd love to buy it! Depending on the price and steel of course. I'd still buy it regardless of the steel used, I just dont want to overpay for budget steel. Now I'm really curious what they plan on using and the price.
@WillLiam123 Says:
I love that blade shape. I've always been a fan of hawkbill blades. The way they draw the material into the blade is to be appreciated. Nobody like slipping out of a cut due to the material slipping over the belly of the blade. I especially like the ones that are just slightly curved like this one is. That way, it doesn't lose its capability to easily poke/stab, yet it will still draw the material into the edge when cutting. Great choice and an amazing knife/design. Congrats and cheers!!

Jörg, those haters just have some soft hands and should probably stick to non-violence. Love this knife, keep up the great work bro!
@matteoplain1078 Says:
Totally love the idea. Would love to see a version totally geared toward self defense, with the blade on the other side, coming out the pinky side of the fist. This would allow to slash in the same motion as a punch. Also could do with spikes coming out the "outward finger curls" kinda like a knuckle buster, but more like short and rounded blades coming out those "curls" this would be effective in both jab style punches but also in more slash swings, whereas pointy spikes might get caught in clothing or bones. I might give it a go myself with a thick piece of steel and angle grinder . Keep making good stuff man, love it!🤟

at $20 each, im buying 2 and one for each of my friends. At $40, im buying 2 total. At $60, ill be picking one up just for me. Above that and im out, this will be way cheaper to manufacture and customize than most knives, so really i want to pick it up at $30+shipping. I even bought a real ring sizer in prep for ordering this knife, so hopefully they are listed based on ring size, not just generic small medium large. If you do offer it, go crazy on the first run, because the whole knife world is intrigued by now, and we all cant wait to get our hands on one
Please, just offer another option other than karambit, something we can actual use on a daily basis as our main knife. If the price is cheap enough, ill be buying one of each anyways, i just really dont want karambit to be my only option

I think the pommel point wouldnt only be useful as self defence tool, but also window breaker in case of accidents, and such that are quite good thing for edc knife. Also hawkbill blades actually work quite well as edc knives they are for example great to rip something open cardboard, plastic packaging all that kinda stuff

@frenchyman19xx Says:
auf jeden fall würde ich solch ein messer kaufen da es sehr nützlich aussieht wenn man viel bastelt oder sich gerne verteidigen möchte. praktisch halt
@edschlein9149 Says:
I love the design and my only concern is scalability. You went in prototypes that you created specifically for your hand and the product you got still didn't fit your hand very well when you received it. Are you going to have to make custom handles for each blade you sell to make sure it fits correctly? Are you going to have to make separate sizes and hope that people will be able to figure it out themselves like you had to? I also really like the idea you had to have a kitchen knife blade on the end. Would probably be the best use-case for me personally.

Wonderful job Jorge. I’m a diesel mechanic in the US, and I always have a karambit in my pocket.
It’s most famous for martial arts, which is a shame that it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves cause it serves a mechanic just as well as Woods craftsman like yourself.
From a straight cut on a new hose to stripping the loom or insulation on wiring, it works as a tool incredibly well and will become more popular when more blue collars discover that.
I’ve been watching your channel like a hawk waiting for news of a commercial one. I’ll definitely be ordering one if that day comes.

I wonder if the spike at the bottom can do a bit more than break windows. Say, use it as a can opener or a screwdriver.

I would absolutely buy a knife like this! I am curious to see a sheath prototype.

Joerg, I have always loved this design and it's superior design features. Well designed and thought out. Where can I buy one? I want one for me and one for my adult son. Not that not it matters but FYI I am 68 years old and I love cold steel! Thank you! And yes, I will buy on or more.
@blightcraftgamma Says:
Thank you so much for making your design open to the public.
I make metal things as a hobby and for gifts and I loved the idea of this handle but I was a little reluctant to (try to) make one as that, this may sound silly, I was worried that you might feel I was stealing from you.
You spelling it our like this eases that nagging self-conscious voice in the back of my head.
@The_Skeleton_That_Appeared Says:
On the toppic of the karambit as a utility knife:
The very roots of the karambit lie in utilitarian work. It was not born of the tiger's claws, as some would insist. It was a gardening tool. A tiny slicing and digging knife that had a ring for surer grip in wet conditions, and to dangle from the little finger when more finger-work than blade-work was needed for a moment.
It just so happened that this small, hook-shaped blade was easy to hide, commonplace, and exceptional at slashing tendons and arteries during ambushes or sneak-attacks. And as with many, many, many other types of farming implements, weaponized versions of this agricultural tool would later develop into the hyper-tactical items we know and love (or love to hate) today, but it was indeed originally a utility knife.
Between carpet knives, linoleum knives, corn knives, hawkbill knives, lineman knives, mushroom knives, etc. etc. etc., I would say your instincts were spot-on when you decided to put that little karambit on your shop wall.

i would love to test that thing before any huge criticism to actualy find complaint at all
i think its great creative design with special purpose to be in hand and dont take one
so in all respect you just made the world first
not two handed weapon
not one handed either
but a half handed weapon that still give you manual capability while being armed at the same time
witch in non combat situation is just as useful since its great to have a great grip on tool without actualy taking away your 5 digits to hold it witch makes this probably a ultimate survival small knife
you can climb on trees probably with that thing even
nothing can surprise you when you always have a knife literaly on hand
and the blade design ?i think you can put anything you need or prefer on this knife its most unique feature is handle afrer all
or should i say a hand mount part
@jylbo Says:
Awesome Joerg ! I "would" gladly buy such a nice knife, but I'm not the type of guy who spend money... at all... However, I really hope it goes in production and I'll share it to my friends. Thanks for saying I can try to make my own version, as I like to craft most of my stuff from salvaged parts.
You have a really positive vibe and I like your attitude very much. Best wishes from a Canadian lumberjack and DIY guy.

@praxrecruiting2886 Says:
I do hope a more compact version with almost no end spike and a straight blade like the original gets production as well. Reasoning: compactness for EDC and my preferred blade style is straight. Partially for an easier draw.
@praxrecruiting2886 Says:
Put me on the buyers list for 2 to start with. Will make a great present. Innovative yet practical knifes are rare!
@bobbuell5968 Says:
I forgot to mention that I love your videos... And I chuckle everytime you say let me show you its features in that special way.😊
@bobbuell5968 Says:
I think I would buy this knife to use as a shop utility knife, gardening knife, or kitchen paring knife. I probably would not buy as EDC... Mainly because I already have Bradford Guardian 3 in M390 with their wood G10 grip... Using a pocket sheath instead of the one it came with. Love that setup as an EDC. Great for quick little tasks... Quick pull, cut, and back in sheath. I don't get the impression that your knife would work as well for that purpose. Could you do a demonstration of going from sheath to hand and back? It seems like the knife kind of needs to twist into and out of your and, so I'm questioning how that works into and out of a sheath. I think the key feature is being able hold the knife and still use the knife for something else. For a shop or garden utility knife, I liked your idea to combine this handle with a replaceable utility knife blade. I would seriously like one of those.
@maxvarjagen9810 Says:
It might be better if you intentionally make it too big, and let people fit it to their size with electrical tape or cordage as you have done. This may be another "feature, not bug" situation.
@elevynto Says:
“This is the part you use for attacking, erm… cutting” 😂
@The-three-eyed-Prophet Says:
there needs to be a version of the tip at the end of the handle that can be used to break car windows in an emergency!!!
