Can we hold them in the other way, lije a karambit ?

Medium Karambit

Nice design

The only thing that concerns me with blade facing the thumb is that if you fell or were pushed in a fight you might fall and stretch your hand out and the blade may orient towards yourself (obviously in a difficult situation) and it may just penetrate your neck or chest in some horrible angle.
Thus it is safer to hold it with the blade facing outwards to the pinky. That's much more practical for fighting/marital arts.
At least in my naive estimation

Da würde sich eine Version im Damast optisch auch gut machen. Das passt dann super zum Schlangenthema
@davisbodmer2661 Says:
Hallo Jörg kannst du die klinge auf die andere Seite setzen damit man das Messer im Karambit Style halten kann?
@Schnoizl Says:
try getting your fingers in those grooves in an emergency sd-situation, you'll be stabbed 5 times before you even realize that this thing is a pointless mall ninja gimmick.
@brunovonderleyen3448 Says:
Shut up and take my money
@Dinoslay Says:
The mid finger part could act as a kubotan if it were more pointy.
@xpndblhero5170 Says:
I feel like one closed loop below the blade would be a big plus for drawing the blade and holding it.... I don't think the full finger lock will feel good after using it for a while.

I watched a movie and the guy had a set of knives in one sheath attached to the center lower back on his belt. The knives went into case from each end so you could only see the handles sticking out from it. It looked really badass cool, an he reaches around behind his back an grabs them ready to finish the fight after he lost his sword. Very cool knife set inside the same sheath that attached to his belt. I bet you can make a better set of knives with the sheath to match than the prop master did on that movie. There are a lot of movies that have really cool interesting knives and I truly love those short swords, my all time favorite one is called the devil's butcher knife that Steven Seagal owns and in his collection. I've always wanted one made from a meteor rock from outer space. Mainly because some of them made recently have great sharpness, and the testing done they passing at the top of all the cutting levels are making them such a much requested item to get your hands on. But they sell for 25 to 30 thousand dollars for just a knife and into hundreds of thousands of dollars for a sword. Those rocks have elements in them we don't have naturally found here on Earth an they are alot sharper that hold an edge longer than metals we do have here. That's why so many people hunt for those rocks using huge metal detectors they need four wheelers to pull them across the fields. Some sell for millions of dollars and smaller ones for around 30 to 50 grand. Depends on quality, shapes, and weight of them.

@JoergSprave if you like comedy might I suggest Futurama where a Robot, Roberto, known for his preference for Stabbing weapons, developed a pistol that fired only knives at everyone in the episode where they all played out a western. "How the West Was 1010001"

Very nice and unique knife. One problem though. The fact your able to use your hands freely is an advantage but also a potential big disadvantage cause you might actually forget you're holding a knife if you get used to it too much and might end up going to scratch yourself or something and end up stabbing yourself. For example try to use your right hand to scratch your left shoulder and see how much of your throat is left after LOL. Just my observation though.

Was für messerkampf (knife combat)?!

I can also see this knife as being VERY handy for gardening since I am constantly grabbing, tying, cutting, and I don't want to constantly pick up a knife.

Yo Jeorg! Make two variants in two steels! A stainless and carbon steel, as a knife user and somewhat of a collector I find depending on what I use that specific knife for and my environment I care less about corrosion resistance than I do about edge retention or ease of sharpening. Example: I recently got tired of my 3V blade rusting on hikes so switched it out finally for a blade made of Magnacut, however that blade is nowhere as tough as my 3v blade and since that blade wasn't available in a stainless steel I had to buy one from someone else. Which is okay but in your case it means I'll only be able to buy 1 knife. 😅

@arvidr Says:
it's a brilliant design, but it's a shame that it's still just a combat knife. with a handle like that, it would be perfect for something like bush crafting. while knife fighting certainly is interesting and i would be very curious to see someone really explore how disarming someone with this knife would work out, combat knives really don't fill any purpose for most people, in contrast to how useful knives are for work, camping, crafting and so on.

Hello Mr. Sprave,
Could you maybe release the 3D files for the handle of the knife? With who common 3D printers are nowadays, I think this would be a great way to "try the knife on" before you invest the 129 Euro.
With best regards
