I love your videos Isabel. As for why the stars are brighter I. the cold. That's when your astro season seems to be so you usually get the brighter stars that time of year. Also the stars appear brighter because in summer there's more haze in the atmosphere then there is when its colder so they are clearer and appear brighter.

Here is something that has helped me with bulk buying and storage. I put stuff in mason jars like you, but I use a vacuum sealer with a mason jar attachment to pull the air out of the jars. Things last so much longer now. Just a suggestion that I hope helps you.
